Airbus emergency cockpit access vid
The captain of that Germanwings plane couldn't get back into the cockpit. This vid says that should have been impossible unless the bloke in the cockpit was actively blocking it somehow.
[vid starts at the relevant time for today's news claims]

If it was a heart attack, you'd assume the pilot would be able to get in using this video's procedure.
Perhaps he didn't know how to do it, which would be terrible.
As for suicide, it all seems too controlled and calm for that.
Tell you what, shall we all wait for the official findings? Nah!!

It's pretty hard to actively block doors having a heart attack.

Interesting, I was wondering what the "Dead mans switch" procedure was.
So the pilot would have to be actively blocking the door?

Possibly.
Or some massive electrical failure that means the override system wasn't working.
Personally, I think it's because someone didn't have their phone on "plane" mode, and it crashed the plane.

It doesn't need to be a massive failure
A single faulty wire would do it.
Starting to look like a deliberate act on the behalf of one of the crew though. Again.

I would hope that the stewardess is trained in how to activate the autopilot.

In the video the door looks like it has a master switch
unlock, norm and lock. Perhaps the switch was accidentally on "lock". You'd want the pilots to have an override to prevent the emergency process being activated by the stewardess with a gun to her head if the plane was hijacked

You're surprised?
Plane crashes are something that most people are at least mildly apprehensive of.
Add to that certain groups realised what a good weapon they'll make.

They would want to restore confidence in the airframe and airline as soon as possible.
All airlines like to point the finger at the pilots whenever something like this happens.
But the weird thing is why didn't he just roll the aircraft, put it into an unrecoverable dive and put it into the ground. Why go through all controlled descending lark.

If I'd made the choice to kill myself and take 150 innocents with me, the least I'd do would be to give them a fun ride down.
I suppose there's the possibility that he had necked a massive amount of sedatives though.

France uses the "inquisitorial" judical system
"It's up to an "independent" prosecutor or investigating magistrate to distinguish between reliable and unreliable evidence. He or she has two missions: to endeavour to discover facts and represent the interests of the state. To discover the facts, he or she can interview complainants, witnesses and suspects in the case's preliminary phase, steering the investigation in one way rather than another". apparently

Good job I was around to point it out then
(they are able to release information quickly because the judge who's job it is to reach a verdict leads the investigation)

Okay, you can look at it that way, though I must add here that I'm somewhat
familiar with a country where (in most parts) inquisitorial system doesn't lead to any
early info, in fact, you usually hear that they can't say anything, as doing so prematurely
would hurt the criminal proceedings/application of the justice.

There's been a couple of leaks from the investigation
That have led to the rampant speculation you've seen. The investigation is therefore releasing more information than you might expect to try and kill some of the worst speculation.
