This is a normal post My inner paranoid conspiracy theorist is convinced you are on to something,
I mean, it certainly looks like the British (English) establishment is choreographing the exposure of this scandal but I can't decide if it was Conservative elements (most probably the Boris wing) or Labour elements.

Labour stands to gain power through the demise of the SNP. Conservatives only cement their mob reputation for vengeance.

If you're arrested, you'll usually be taken to a police station, held in custody and – if you're not charged with a crime – you may be questioned.

After you've been held at the police station and questioned, you may be released or charged with a crime.

This is a normal post I guess it's standard procedure in a criminal investigation
Seeing as it's a case of financial mismanagement Nicola Sturgeon was on of the three who signed off on SNP finances they've all had to be questioned under charge. They'll then be released without charge as the investigations continue and if there's sufficient evidence they'll bring formal charges. I've never really thought about it but it must be why you can get arrested under suspicion at the start of a process of investigation, but you'll have to be formally charged once the CPS is bringing a case against you.
