It has fucked space science and history content on yt.
Slop videos are regularly snuck into my feed. Robot voice, aimless repetitive script saying odd things and mispronouncing words and names than no expert or enthusiast ever would... Filler text consisting of cliches and dead end tangents... It's not always super easy to spot the stuff instantly, which is annoying.
Occasionally a friend will try to talk to me about something astronomical and increasingly the stuff they tell me is complete bollocks from a slop video.
YT is fully on board and is actively encouraging content creators to make this crap, according to Universe Today. We need a human-only alternative.

so i think what they're basically saying is, they're incapable of making a product which immediately distinguishes itself from ai-generated garbage
also a lot of righteous anger about stealing the work of creative people in a video which does not have a single original defining element. Everything in this is drawn from the work and ideas of others who came before. I don't think it's any better than the thing it criticizes.

Not a fair comparison, they talk a lot about fact checking.
Yes, almost everything builds on what has gone before, with humans making attempts to verify, the current iteration of 'AI' doesn't seem to differentiate much between established fact and opinion/propaganda/conspiracy bollocks.

Stock Aitken and Waterman flooded the music world with slop. It's just the amount of slop.
AI can generate slop in sufficient quantities to drown out genuinely creative humans. It's already pretty much there in science papers.

SAW music wasn't slop.
It was derived from Motown and acid house and is actually rather well written in some cases. Not being to your taste doesn't make it slop.
You are also trying to equate truth with art. Art slop is not the same problem as fake news/science/history.
