5 Years In Iraq
NSFW
I made this!
Happy Easter - 5 years since the start of the war in Iraq, a gentle start to this, then it gets nasty, some scenes may upset some - follows on from the Saving Private Ryan montage one I did a while ago, with the same track.. because drums & explosions go really well together don't they.
Proud of Bin Laden singing "now the towers are falling, so much dust in the air" bit (lucky find that).

That was very good.
I am not ashamed to say I nearly cried during the funeral ceremony.

2. Reminds me of this early effort of mine.
[edit: WARNING - also contains graphic images and is likely to tear your fucking heart out]

glad you made alot of time for the funerals too
if I could just add one tiny criticism, it would have been nice to include some the Iraqi civilian deaths and wounded too as they didn't have much of a choice about being there
great vid all the same
click
still at least Defence Contractor The Carlyle Group(Bush Senior) and Haliburton (Cheney) are seeing huge profits since the war, every cloud eh - if only those lads knew before signing up what a complete sham it is

Well done
...and sparing use of jihadi media mixed with the true, human cost that shows it's neither a video game nor a laughing matter.
I wrote this last year on the Iraqi TV channel (since bombed off the air) that used the same kind of footage to gloat over killing our forces.

thanks everyone
Yes, I was trying to get across that for what the invaders do, the insurgents do back - tit for tat - take away the troops, what would happen?

My own personal view: Invading Iraq was a mistake. A big one. But if we pull the spear out too suddenly, the bleeding will be impossible to stop.

And My Personal View
Is that you're a frigging idiot.
The only way to reduce the killing of the Coalition Forces is to pull out now. Iraq will descend it a bloody mess but it's going to do that sooner or later anyway and staying only prolongs the agony.
We (The West) can't force our way of life onto a foreign culture - they have to sort it out for themselves. Every extra day we stay there creates more bodies, more families grieving their dead and creates more people who hate us (with good cause)and gives Bin-Laden more people who are willing to be martyred.
Pull. Out. Now.
Cheers

Brilliant
Excellent work, well done. I must have watched this about 100 times already. It's the checkpoint car-bombing that always gets me. I'd seen the footage before; something about the way the soldier takes a step backwards before the explosion always moves me to tears.
My only problem is what's the point of b3ta having a newsletter if this isn't in it?
