That is until I saw the floating* social media crap then closed it. Java has been disabled by default in one of the more recent updates. I'm not sure if it applies to your OSX version (hence my comment about the round buttons) but it's worth looking into.
*Sorry, but that's second only to stealing focus in jonbob's book of bile-raising web no-no's.

I have a PC but I hardly ever use it because in comparison, it's less shiney!

actually I've used my expensive 17" macbook pro so much that it's classy aluminium body has totally lost it's once luxurious lustre. I only use my pc for games. My mac boots about 3 times faster and does everything, bar games, just as well if not better than my pc. Cubase on my PC crashed numerous times (including critical times when I was making stuff for uni) because, essentially, the ASIO drivers, which are a necessary software workaround to allow advanced audio apps to directly use the processor, are relatively unstable. Macs have "core audio", a much more reliable hardware solution.

bought shit HW in the first place and probably have no clue how to config the SW.
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 18:51, Reply)

Sorry, but it's good hardware... Latency is as low as 2ms, has the same A/D converters as Pro-Tools no less and a signal to noise ratio to match!
Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about.

you DON'T know what you're talking about. :)
Here's the ASIO options for my soundcard... simple enough even you could handle it I reckon.

I'll remember that next time you're moaning about why Gabe Newell hasn't announced HL3 yet!

You all look the same to me anyway

[edit] Having read all the thread I can't believe all the hate you're getting. /links seems to have a LOT of sand in a LOT of vaginas today.

He's an established mac hating numpty, I think he DOES have a lot of sand in his vajayjay... as well as some autism.

pity you failed to get it working isnt it and had to spend out on a shiney shiney box at three times the price.
I guess its horses for courses..
Not all people need a proper computer - they need something "that just works"
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 20:38, Reply)

so thanks for my expensively indulgent electronic treat :D
Besides, not getting something to work, and something being unstable/unreliable are two different things.
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 20:44, Reply)

It's almost like you're both linux using autistic bosom buddies who hold hands.
Anyway, the real reason I bough a mac is because much of the course content at uni required software that was only available, or usable to the degree required by the course, on macs (namely Supercollider and MaxMSP/Jitter).
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 21:06, Reply)

so of course we must linux users..

I said you were a cunt for spending your student grant on a mac then boasted about it on a forum while taunting those of us who paid for it.
( , Mon 23 Jul 2012, 7:26, Reply)

so I pay no taxes, so technical inept people can buy shiney things all they like.
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 20:59, Reply)

as suggesting that all mac users are pretentious art school graduates or graphic designers that happen to be pretentious or cunts.
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 19:22, Reply)

Basically if you use mac you're 73% more likely to wear classes which don't have prescription lenses. FACT!
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 22:14, Reply)

he spent his student grant on a Mac. My daughter spent hers on food and books.
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 20:56, Reply)

why its having all these problems, no money for proper software.
The rest of the grant probably was spent on a fixed wheel bike and a pair of beard trimmers;)
( , Sun 22 Jul 2012, 21:09, Reply)

Sorry to disappoint, but it seems we feel the same way about bearded people and hipster bikes.

It was the first audio program that I decided to buy along with my new PC (at the time), an old akai sampler, a novation a-station and a behringer mixer. (compensation money).

No I was thinking more about you shoving your shiney box up your arse as far it goes, while trying to decifer the instruction manual in the best way that you can, probably in the medium of mime.
P.S. I had your mum and shes shit

Also, in terms of processor power, RAM and a fancy RAID config - I got a lot more for 800 quid than I would with apple. It's nice to run 20 instances of Massive just for fun.
ps I used to use an Akai S3000XL. Ahh the memories. I still have an A Station - the sub bass patch is still useful.

imagine how many years of use you will get out of it when you are on the dole leeching even more money from the poor tax payers of the UK ;)
Mookay- not aimed at you
