...not sure what to make of this.
As cheesey as Arnie's incarnation was, the film was pretty much made brilliant by Basil Poledouris' score. The sheer power, atmosphere and gravitas that score brought to the film is yet to be equalled in my view.
I'll probably end up seeing it. Shall reserve judgement until then.

Which may be an indicator of copying other films music styles and not creating their own.

but thats only cos its burned into my memory more recently. I'm not a Watchman fan per se but hope that this is on par with that as oppossed to Clash of the Titans (remake).

One of the best things about Conan was that he barely spoke.

The movie could be fabulous or dreadful, it's impossible to tell.

Fairly decent cast but looks absolutely awful from this

I thought that one looked great. And I can't tell why. I think it's because I got a better sense of a story from it. There was tension and real emotion. (Plus, as you say, a great cast)
These big CGI-heavy fantasy and superhero flicks always seem to be staring at us through cold, dead eyes. This one seemed more raw.
Having said that, the main point is true for both: trailers have become such a movie form in themselves that they are next to useless for deciding whether you're going to like a film or not.

The film looks interesting if a bit cheesy. However they really need to get a better music producer in.
Also, I'm assuming its not that Brian Cox...

looks like there is a good film behind this trailer.
