How much food should actually be in a £15 free school meals parcel?
The conversation about food parcels and free school meals is an emotive one, but it misses the point.
It's not about value. It's about an ideological distrust of and disdain for the poor, from the people ruling the country.

Because legally minimum wages and / or the state's intended social safety net doesn't provide enough funds to do so.
Once you've decided to have a social safety net, it really ought to be up to the job.

I feel you may be asking the wrong question of us
I suspect the real question should be:
"Why do you live in a country where a company can see money intended to feed hungry kids, and thinks 'We can grab well over half of that', and why do you have a government that abets such behaviour?"
