They have/ had these things in Manchester city centre (I'm not sure if they're still there); I can't help thinking that if I was the kind of exhibitionist who'd take a piss in the middle of the street they wouldn't make any difference to my behaviour - and if I was the kind of person who'd prefer somewhere a little more private... well, they wouldn't make any difference then, either.

and Dutch all seem pretty blasé about it.
Fuck me, it's full now and there's a bloody queue

I myself am in numerous tourists photos when half cut late in the 'dam. I'd rather piss in one of them than in a doorway, and no-one can really see anything anyway.
EDIT: Oh, right by the flower market. Follow the tram lines round to the left and just off the spui is one of my favourite bars in the world. Over 200 beers on the menu, and two pub cats.

what with every public toilet being fucking closed after 4pm or something silly!
But then they were taken away... probably because the university complained that they didn't want the streets being used as a toilet, so instead people use the streets as a toilet.

But why is it right in the middle of a fucking crossing where people are walking? At least put it off to the side a bit ffs

but this is a busy little intersection between squares. There's actually a permanent one just to the right you can't see. The crossing can be avoided easily whereas it would obstruct the pavements all round the outside much more.

It's designed for pissed people who don't really care where they piss
