it may be worth watching while eating an Iceland pizza and a can of own-brand lager. Yeah. A cheap fun night in.

I brewed up a batch of beer three weeks ago and bottled it over the weekend so yes. I do have Old Garold's Peculiar. It's a thing.

I used to brew a lot, beer and wine.

The whole point of Drebin, the whole reason the comedy worked, was because he was incompetent.

Possibly the third too. If this is the start then it could play into that, maybe. Maybe not
( , Sun 4 May 2025, 17:55, Reply)

Drebin was definitely more of the straight man in the TV show.

Seth MacFarlane AND Liam Neeson? How did that Western work out for them? Oh yeah. How Neeson continually gets comedy and action gigs is utterly beyond me.

But he played that one entirely straight.
Cold Pursuit I think it was called.

I expect it to be advertised on the side of every bus for months.

that zucker/abrahams schtick has been on an increasing tired downhill slide for decades, after the days of Airplane! Top Secret and Naked Gun.
My guess is that there'll be a few mediocre pastiches of modern cop/crime shows, but it'll mostly be callbacks to the previous movies relying on sentimentally to mask the lack of coming up with new jokes.

Done very well IMO.
On the non-comedy front, The Man From UNCLE remake/prequel was also great, and superbly cast.
Very few are good though, you're right.

I think it's because Carrell made it more his own. The don adams smart was cocky but knew when he was always stuffing up and the humour was him carrying on anyway. Carrel was more an oblivious mr bean like take on smart.
Martin was just doing a bad sellers impression, and it looks like Neeson is just doing a Nielson. All it does is make you wish for the original, instead it's like an SNL sketch. I don't know, the preview isn't much to go on. maybe it wont be predictably disappointing
