I will add my guilt to the pot. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Hope that works.

Posting Glee clips in GPF. Surely that's too guilty even for guilty pleasures Friday.
EDIT Well that's the space-time continuum gone for a burton then isn't it? changing the link once I've posted a disparaging comment? Hardly fair, and risks upsetting the entire balance of causality.

Complex, clever music from highly talented musicians. Better than any of this modern rubbish the kids nowadays listen to.

Guilty pleasures, eh? I had to think long and hard about this and then realised that it's got to be something genuinely shameful but which strikes some odd chord with you, perhaps a special memory. My Dad has a great repertoire of these old music hall-style songs and they always crack me up for some reason. He started singing this one when he saw me down a pint in about 2-3 seconds. Video of these skillz is here www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2vVclYKLPI

Haha, damn, i thought it might get me off with a warning. Instead i get two weeks without the option and some stern remarks from the bench. Fair enough. At least it's a genuine guilty pleasure :)

Hello lovely links, my you look STUNNING this morning. Honestly how you combine being so gorgeous with a razor sharp wit and intelligence that would make MENSA quake in their boots, I will never know...
Anyway...
This is the story of 2 fabulous b3tans deciding to do something a bit stupid.
The dapper gent chenobble and my favouritist b3tan in the world (apart from you...pssst..yes you!) Aardvark are doing the Mongol rally next month.
This involves taking a rubbish car, the type your mum might drive to the shops, on a 10,000 mile journey to Ulan Bataar.
www.theadventurists.com/the-adventures/mongol-rally
After Prague they head up to Moscow, down and along the North coast of the Caspian Sea, across Northern Kazakhstan, back into Russia, into Mongolia from the North West and then across the Gobi Desert.
All completely unsupported by anyone but themselves.
They are raising money for this years charity, that helps street kids and orphans. They are also leaving the car when they get there.
cncf.org/en/about_cncf/index.php
IF they get there.
Please pretty please if you have even a POUND a teeny tiny POUND to spare, chuck it their way. They are going to need every penny to bribe border guards and buy their way out of prison.
It would make me happy.
'Like this' so it gets on the popular page too. Someone might see it when they are drunk over the weekend and pledge a million quid. What? You never know....
Thanks all. Have an great Friday!

Oh yes, I went there!
Worth it just for the video, I remember there being uber controversy that, gasp, they didn't play their own instruments and weren't a 'proper' band, yet no one thought there was anything wrong with the massively sexualised video, breast close ups and semi-nekkid dancing queens in a bath, shown at kid's prime time hours...
Strange times.

Ed Alleyne-Johnson busking in york.
He's playing 'Clocks' on an electric violin with effects peddle, a double whammy of cheesy guilt! Guilt because it's AWESOME.
Bonus: Ed's version of 'Mad World', acheingly beautiful in the cheesiest and guiltiest possible way!

Bloody space cadet. Electric Violin Concertos is still a cracking album.

Nearly posted it meself but chickened out, LOL!
*edit* Gotta tell a story:
I used to frequent a scary biker bar for the cheap booze and ubiquitous drugs, place was full of hard as nails and scary as hell big hairy muthas, but the guys were actually lovely fellers just there to relax after a busy day doing dodgy deals and knifing enemies, anyhoo, behind the bar was a MAJOR queen who provided much needed comic relief at times, particularly with his music choices which he often used to clear the bar with at closing time.
On one occasion he decided to put ABBA's Greatest Hits on, cue lotsa complaints and empty threats, but also, when The Winner Takes It All came on, one weeping, singing, teary bloke sitting at the bar, crying into his beer 'cos it reminded him of his divorce to the wife he loved, who we all then learned left him for cheating on her.
We all gave him hugs, poor lad...

I used to actively hate ABBA, but now I can appreciate good music, whether it's to my taste or not, I can appreciate that its well-crafted.
And there's is as well-crafted as fine china.
And Voulez Vous is ace
