Okay my perspective
All the woman in my family on my mother's side have massive boobs which stay pretty much the same size no matter how much weight is gained/lost. For example, when due to illness/IV drip I went down to about a size 6/8 I still had DD breasts (no it was not attractive in the least, I looked like an emaciated skeleton who'd had plastic surgery,) but most of the time I hover at size 12 and 32H or 34G depending on minor weight fluctuation. My mother calls it the Russian peasant look (charming) big breasts, fairly wide shoulders, and a sturdy frame.

That's all just scene-setting drivel for the various odd ways men act around them: It's pretty true, that big breasts seem to remove the brain/mouth filter. I've had things said and done to me that were utterly unacceptable but that were not reacted to in that way by the people around me, because it was all just a big joke.

Transsexuals especially FTM are fascinated by them. I've been asked several times if they are allowed to bury their face in my cleavage, jiggle them etc.
Last week I was in a club, and with a friend of a friend at the bar. We joked that pretty girls got served first, he decided I wasn't pretty enough to get the barmaid's attention, and yanked down the top of my dress to expose more cleavage.

My room-mate got a phone call from a drunk friend, who slurringly asked down the phone 'Is it true Amberl has 32H breasts?' This same friend cannot keep his eyes focused on my face. I'm not exactly dressed immodestly, but even if I'm wearing a high necked jumper he'll still stare at them. People think it's acceptable male and female both, to touch and comment upon them. The number of times I've had women tell me 'oh they'll be saggy in ten years anyway' or men assume that I'm going to sleep with them because I'm obviously 'up for it,' is rather insulting.

It's not just me either in case you're thinking 'maybe she just actually is a slut, and gives off signals that she doesn't mind these things happening,' they happen to every big breasted woman I know. I'm not even really pretty. I'm all right, but nothing special, but for some men the boobs seem to cancel that out entirely. I've had to grow accustomed to not really having many dates, because about 80% of people who express interest are more interested in my breasts than they are in me, while a lot of men I really like are scared off by them- for exactly the reasons given above- they're associated with sluttish, stupid, bingedrinking girls in the popular imagination, so they don't actually see what is attached.

They're masses of fat people! They're not attractive or interesting. They won't talk to you about politics, films, make you laugh, tell you bad jokes, listen to you or care. I promise you I can do all those things. I can, not my breasts. Fixate on them and you've missed the most interesting parts. This definitely turned into ranting and in conclusion there is nothing I would rather be than a 32C. If I could pay for a reduction (and guarantee minimal scarring) I would do it in a heartbeat.

I promise I do have some funny stories about breasts in various contexts, but I think this needed to be said

Can't you get a reduction on the NHS
by claiming emotional trauma or long term back problems or something?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:25, closed)
I could get it on the basis of back problems
I'm not obese, and my breasts are out of proportion. However due to (a) fear of scarring (b) non allowance of needles/surgery thanks to my illness it's pretty much out of the question
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:31, closed)

The scarring can be pretty horrific from what Mrs Prime has told me, and it can take up to 4 painful weeks to recover.

Supposedly it leaves a semi circular scar under the bottom half of the breast, extends up to the armpit, and there is another scar running from the nipple straight down to meet the crescent.

When she told me about this, I stopped complaining I am struggling to lose the moobs!

I'd like your breasts
if we met and I liked you. That's the right way around, isn't it?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:29, closed)
They aren't fatty masses,
they're glandular tissue, for the most part at least! That's why they didn't get smaller when you did.

You're right though on the other matters. But don't women leer sometimes?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:33, closed)
yes women leer at them
because they feel it's socially acceptable to do so- to be one of the guys and objectify me by reducing me to just my breasts
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:38, closed)
Actually I didn't mean at you,
But in your context I see what you mean.

Bravissimo do do some very pretty ones according to my wife.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:40, closed)
Where do you buy
your bras? Cos Mrs Spark is a 28H and its fecking impossible to find sexy underwear
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:36, closed)
sadly only Bravissimo stock bras in this city
and most of them are quite ugly, though there are a few pretty ones
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:37, closed)
I'm the same size as you
(as we've already established!) and I find both M&S and Debenhams do some pretty nice bras in our size, not the widest selection in the world, but pretty and fit me well without having to pay Bravissimo prices.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:39, closed)
I might have to go and have a proper look
because paying £30-£40 for a bra is outrageous
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:45, closed)
Yes! they do cost a lot which is a pain.
Another reason I always wanted smaller boobies.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:52, closed)
yes
look at La Senza and Agent Provocatuer. All designed for small to medium breasts, and all pretty and lacy and nice
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:54, closed)
Just head for the DD+ ranges
I can't remember brand names off the top of my head, but there's a few in both now and are £15-£20 a bra and I'm quite a fan. You may have to hunt around a little though, but the last few times I've been I've come home with something and that's almost unheard of for me.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:55, closed)
triumph doreen
not the best-looking of bras, but not ugly and they're like tit scaffolding
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 20:11, closed)

Bravissimo all the way. There is a brand they sell called Freya who do awesome bras which are really comfortable and not at all granny-like.

I have a lovely see through pink/orange one.

And it's times like these I'm glad to be invisible to the majority of men.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:44, closed)
Bravissimo are the best.
Also try Amplebosom. Both are on the internet. There are quite a few internet sites for the larger sizes if you look and don't listen to Amberl. Most of Bravissimo's bras are lovely. They do bras sized swimming costumes and clothing cut for big boobies too.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:48, closed)
well maybe my branch is an especially small shop
but everything in there is large and beige, though I got a lovely turquoise one there last year
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:49, closed)
This.
Large and beige features prominently on the available bras list for size 28H.

www.curvykate.com/

Is the best site i've found so far, surprising her with lingerie for her bday this month from there.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:03, closed)
Wow
They have a stockist in my home town which has NOTHING useful in it whatsoever! What has gone wrong with the world?!
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:18, closed)
Hahaha
I read that as "they're masses of fat people" not "they're masses of fat....people". Whoops!
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:38, closed)
Click
A very good point, well made
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 14:58, closed)
Two good points, in fact.
Seriously Amberl, I wish I didn't know this about you.
It does change (this) male's perspective. Before I had only a hazy, unfocussed image of you which would be in my head when replying to your posts.
Now the hazy, unfocussed image has magnificient norks.
This doesn't make me like myself any better.
However, Lady Thatcher had exactly the same measurements as her contemporary Samantha Fox.
I shall try to picture you as the former - more appropriate - rather than the latter, however more accurate that might be.
Also - for what it's worth - a previous gf was unblessed with bloody huge boobs and they made her quite unhappy.
Quite apart from the problem of where do they go when sleeping, and generally being in the way at all times.
So my sympathies. Try and get some fun from them.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:08, closed)
think of it like this
before knowing this when replying to my posts you thought of me as a horrible Tory with bad taste in literature. Nothing's changed :)
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:11, closed)
I am quite prepared to overlook the tory element as something you'll grow out of.
Just as you (kindly) set aside my awful patronising at times.

And the dodgy reading: it's a wonder you can read at all without binoculars.
I'll shall just have to forget about The Norks from now on.
(Nah - not a chance. I shall rib you mercilessly on /OT!)

Have a good w/e: I'm off camping again. Monday?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:57, closed)
I always think this one is a bit tricky
On the one hand I agree - it's not nice to be seen only for your breasts, especially if it's difficult to hide them.

The flipside is that many people have something that people target when they'd rather the attention was on something else, and that at least you do have something that reliably attracts people.

True, many of the people attracted are sleazeballs, but the first impression most people have is visual, as personality does not shine out as easily. I personally don't think it's possible to entirely separate sexual and intellectual attraction - perhaps the breasts are a draw, or a distraction, but they might like your mind as well.

Or, in short, having something like a big pair of breasts gets you off the starting block. Without that, you're not even at the start.

Touching and commenting isn't fair, though. Can't you tell them to fuck off, or go somewhere with nicer people?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:50, closed)
I completely know what you mean
Your body shape is pretty much exactly the same as my better half, Kirsty W, she has recently lost some weight, got down to a size 10 a lost a few cup sizes, but is still 30HH.

I have found that since going out with her, having big boobs for a girl is more of a burden than it is fun; constant back ache, big money to find a good fitting bra, and hardly any dresses fit.The real frustration and occasional tears really makes me feel for her. It has completely changed my outlook, and made me grow up a hell of a lot!

You have got quite a few people here talking about various large bra people, she swears by Freya, but after a while, the material stretches and she loses support. That said, they have performed better than some others she has tried so far.

Have you heard about the 'Star in a Bra' competition brastop.com and Curvy Kate do every year?

Although my better half is normally embarrassed by her larger figure and hates the attention she gets from men, she decided to go in for the competition this year, as it is organised by women, for women.

Guess what? She is in the finals!!!! She is really embarrased! (feel free to give her the nod on the online polls if may be so bold to plug, but I am really proud of her!)

With a bit of luck, she will get some more support (no pun intended) by the people running the competition, and hopefully sort her out with some good bras, which as you know are really hard to find.

Best of luck to you, I know exactly what you mean, which must be strange coming from a man!
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:15, closed)
I did it
and it was the best thing I've ever done. I was a 32FF/G and had a breast reduction when I was 19. I'm now a 34D. I was worried about the scarring too, but five years later and you can hardly see it. I used cica-care silicone sheets, which flatten scars and make them practically disappear if you wear them non-stop for about six months. Had a great surgeon--PM me if you want the name! Obviously money's a problem, but if you ever find it...

I've also heard of many people who've said the same thing--I believe the op has one of the highest satisfaction rates out of all "cosmetic" surgeries.

Whatever you choose, good luck!
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:44, closed)

I'll have to pass this on, that is one of the main things the other half has been scared of.

Thanks for this
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:57, closed)
I've vaguely thought about breast reduction in the past
but I'm only 22 and I've heard you can't breastfeed after, is this true or just a myth?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 17:01, closed)
Thanks very much
it's something I would consider once I've been cleared for surgery/injections again
