new creative challenge feature: Build Stuff
How about a new creative challenge feature: Build Stuff.
Every fortnight a new challenge to real-world build something based on as freeform a theme as Image Challenge usually is. Make it out of paper, make it out of pasta, sculpt clay, weld metal, put together lego bricks - whatever works for you so long as it's more than just a drawing and done off-computer. Take and post photos either as you build or just show us the finished article at the end.

Hey Rob, lots of people have been saying that B3ta is dying.
Kurt Cobain wrote 'It's better to burn out than to fade away', so why not take his advice literally and burn down B3ta for the insurance money?

Would it be too much to ask for the boards to be in a font where capital i doesn't look the same as lower-case l?

I've asked for this before, but let's try again...
Can we have "reply" on /links not refresh the page?
Imagine... you do a "quick reply", it pops up inline. Click "post" and it does it in the background and inserts inline. Result? You can reply to videos or threads without stopping the video or tune or whatever is playing.

Make > and < usable outside of html coding
If you use angle brackets in a message body for anything other than html code (e.g. to say "is greater than"), it makes all the text before it disappear.

Is there any chance the boards can feature more pictures of the Acropolis?
I'm particularly keen on this one:
but any would do really.
You could make them the background or sutin.

Is there anyway to reduce the ways in which people can operate sock puppet accounts?
I know people can use more than one browser at the same time, or keep logging in and out of different accounts, but is there someway? iP address? Cookies? I don't know, I am not technical and I know it will never be possible to eradicate sock puppets completely, but can we at least attempt to?
Also locking people in to one username and not letting them change it may help?

A self generating family tree of sockpuppets.
To include name changes and all that dross.
It could be called "Who the fuck do you think you are?"

A long time user wrote a book and certain cunts think its hilarious to ruin his chances of success and they are using b3ta as a channel to do so (see other posts also e.g. b3ta.com/questions/hoarding/post1608559
This is beyond trolling.

Is there anyway that you could put an option on a board post to hide that particular post without ignoring the OP.
Just a little "hide post" option would be wicked,
Edit:this question relates to /links

"Friends' Activity":
Why does it turn red seemingly at random, even when there's nothing new in my friend feed? Make it stop please. Make it just turn red when it has something new for me.

More of a question really...
...regarding the 'I like this!' feature on the QOTW. It's obviously useful when you like someone's response to the QOTW, but why do we have it in the replies as well? Surely a reply can never 'win' as it would be on it's own on the winners page and therefore out of context. I could be missing something here and would be very happy to be educated in this matter!

"Lock me out times"
I have no willpower. There, I've said it. I just can't stay away.
Can we have something in our profile settings that will deny us the ability to log in during certain, configurable times?
Then I might be able to get some work done.
Fanks! xxXxx

I've asked this before, but here goes...
Could the post highlights please be in distinctly different colours? It annoys me that new posts and my own posts are slightly different shades of grey. Surely it's only just a couple of numbers that need changing to do this?
Thanks :)

Sort out the whole thread-deleting cunt problem
by making it so that whenever someone deletes a post, that post gets replaced by a little box saying "This post was deleted by the poster", and leaving the rest of the thread below intact.
