The thing that get's me about modern computer games is
There sheer complexity, the amount of man hours required to learn to play them. I really can't be arsed. Give me a mindless shoot-em up with spectrum-esque 2D graphics any day.

You're outgrowing them.
I often long for the simplicity of games of yore, then I'll play them on an emulator, and realise how shit they really were.

If I can't muster enough skill to play the game to an enjoyable level in 10 minutes, I can't be arsed.
I've never owned a games console. Can't be arsed.
Although I do play Angry Birds an awful lot!
