Crap Gadgets
We wanted a monkey butler and bought one off eBay. Imagine our surprise when we found it was just an ordinary monkey with rabies. Worse: It had no butler training at all. Tell us about your duff technology purchases.

Breadmakers
Has anyone ever bought one and used it after that obsessive phase when you're baking every day, or does everyone put it away after a month, never to be used again like I did?

I was unemployed for a while
and while I was looking for work, I turned to baking to keep me occupied. Eight months later, I found work. Unfortunately by that time I had perfected the recipe for spiced fruit bread, really nice bread and was taking orders from friends.
What this proves is this simple fact. To use a bread maker, you have to be really, really bored, beyond the levels of boredom where dole time TV is almost tolerable!

When you first bought a toaster
Did you obsessively eat toast for every meal for about a month, then get bored and put it away?

No
But that's because I don't have to spend ages preparing ingredients for toast, I just pop in the bread and away we go.
You fucking plum.
