This is a question Crap Gadgets

We wanted a monkey butler and bought one off eBay. Imagine our surprise when we found it was just an ordinary monkey with rabies. Worse: It had no butler training at all. Tell us about your duff technology purchases.

Thanks to Moonbadger for the suggestion

Phone alarm clocks
I mean, they don't wake you up if your phone battery dies, that's not really a great technologicaladvancementofcombining2thingsinto1 now is it?!

Mine does.
For the last 10 years I've only ever owned Samsung phones, so I can't speak for any other make of mobile phone, but every Samsung I've had, the alarm will sound even if the phone is turned off, either by myself, or if it runs out of battery.
I believe you have to set it to "alarm sound even if phone is off" or some such, in the alarm settings.
Taa-daa problem solved :)

*drumroll*
Introducing...the Samsung Galaxy S! The 'smart'phone whose alarm absolutely will not ring if you switch the phone off. Will you be woken at 07:00 in time for work or by a call from Crazy Drunken Ex at 03:00? The excitement never stops.

The girlfriend really wanted a nice iPod dock for her birthday, specifically one with an alarm clock so she could wake up to music. "Sure!" says I, and slapped down a fair slab of cash to get her what she wanted.

She doesn't use it as an alarm clock now though. When I asked her why, she said "Why would I? I've got a cellphone."

So, in summation: cellphone alarms = cunts

Let me get this straight
You want a device to operate when the battery is flat?
(, Wed 5 Oct 2011, 1:23, closed)
yes, yes he does .
thats why in every box they now provide a key so that you can tap in to the power of the mighty spring

I've lost cunt this week of how many times it's the poster that's crap, not the gadget.

That was a typo, but it seems apt so I'll leave it.

Normal alarm clocks don't work if the battery dies either
Unless you plug it into the mains - but you could do that with your phone too.

But then how would he go to work? He'd need a really long power cord.
A rethink is needed there, buddy.
