Pointless Experiments
Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

Damn you!
Why did you not suggest this before I ate the last of my bacon yesterday?!
This is so being done as soon as I get more bacon.

Not as such. Toasties, at least in my experience, are all heated up together in a press which seals the edges. This was more of a sandwich made of toast with melted cheese on it, and bacon in the middle. And Worcestershire sauce.

Well
Ig you have one of these then you may fry the bacon upon it, then place it within cheese covered bread.
Making a cheese and bacon toastie in the manner of which you have described.
Every house needs one.

I have one in a cupboard somewhere.
Cleaning it is always more hassle than it's worth. Easier to use the grill.

Cleaning it; you philistine! Where does all the flavour come from if you clean it?
Bacon and toasted cheese sandwiches go well with tomato and chili jam.

A variation
Fry up some pancetta with spring onions, a finely chopped red chilli, and a bit of garlic.
Place on a slice of toast.
Cover with grated red leicester until melty and bubbly.
Eat.
Yum.

@ Twicey Drinker.
I think you'd need a knife and fork for that butty! Sounds gorge but that lot aint going to fit in a panini without making a major mess. My personal fave is bacon, cheese and beans but that also is a bit sloppy.
Definately worth it tho ;o)
