Right....
DEAR PEOPLE

If your story involoves using a portaloo where NOTHING HAPPENS except you did a shit in unpleasant conditions or that time you took drugs and it was really trippy but ultimately NOTHING HAPPENS then bear in mind that to everyone else it's FUCKING BORING.

SO REMEMBER:

Think before you post. If it's dull as shit, DON'T POST.

the only thing duller than a qotw full of repeated answers
is the ones who feel they have to point it out.

^This.

It got in the newsletter
So can't have been that bad.

I spent 3 years on QOTW, where the answers were all genuinely funny and brilliant. It just seems to have morphed into a self help forum or this; people who are so desperate to contribute regardless of whether or not they have anything interesting to say, which means all the genuinely well written stories are lost in a quagmire of shite, which is a damn shame for the people who have actually put some thought or effort into their posts.

'Ello, EmEm
You're right, of course.

It's just not been the same for the past few months.

Awight enzers
It breaks what's left of my cold dead heart ;)

.
Isn't being lost in a quagmire of shit quite fitting for a qotw about festivals?

I've got some festival stories but I think i said them all the last time.

Unlike yours, of course, which are concentrated missives of pure comic genius.

(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 15:05, closed)
I concede this entirely, but I feel it needs to be said
Also, I just read through your top answers and they are all funny and/or engaging to read. What bothers me is that this place used to be great- nowadays any time I try and read QOTW it's just an impenatrable mire of double spaced nothing, which means that people like you get lost in it.
(, Sat 6 Jun 2009, 21:14, closed)
The quality of the questions has a lot to do with it
IMHO.

But you've been missed from these pages, nonetheless.
(, Sun 7 Jun 2009, 0:58, closed)
Aw shucks DG ;)
You are almost certainly right, but there doesn't seem to be the same quality control from users in the same way....

Meh. Looking forward to seeing you and sweary next weekend x

I can't do anything about the double-spacing
but if you append /all to the question URL, i.e.

www.b3ta.com/questions/festivals/all

then you get the current most popular stories, which has the pleasant side effect of filtering out the crap.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 8:23, closed)
I know the /all thing
the issue is that it's hard to wade through enough stories to find the good ones to click them in the first place. Anyone who posts in a busy point won't get read by the majority of people.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 16:56, closed)
Maybe we should have a "this is shit button"
so the shit ones get pushed to the bottom and the good ones go to the top.

That or you could go to a bash with some grenades.
(, Tue 9 Jun 2009, 9:28, closed)

tits out please
(, Sun 7 Jun 2009, 6:57, closed)
And there I was....
...enjoying the festival spirit when, just like the real thing, some cock comes along and tries to spoil it.

so hush and begone, humourless harridan!

you're wrecking my buzz.
