Australians - cunts?
I am a "whinging pom" apparently yet I've worked with quite a few Aussies and some of them moaned about anything and everything all day long, day in, day out, week after week after month after year... Usually about the cold weather. Fuck off back home then!

Another example: in England, if a neighbour starts a bonfire, we tut and take our washing in. In Australia, it's a national emergency. Chill out for fucks sake.

TNT magazine
You ever read the letters page in TNT (a magazine for Austrailian, Kiwi and South Africans in the UK)? There are some hilarious letters sometimes. One that sticks out in my mind is one about escalators: "..so why is it that people in the uk stand on the right on escalators and drive on the left? I mean, jeez, talk about confusing, whay can't they just blah, blah, blah....". And they say we whinge!!

I would like to say that everybody whinges, and that if you're going to generalise - then let me also say this.

before you start...I am a Londoner through and through..except for the fact I live in Melbourne (2 yrs out of my 36 years).

I agree, I can honestly say that for how good they have it here Aussies are fucking atrocious whingers, unbelievably racist, ignorant of their own history (I heard a 2nd generation Italian calling a 3rd generation Greek an Immigrant bastard).

However, when 300 people die in a fire which wipes out tens of thousands of hectares and leaves several thousand homeless I think it's only fair to be somewhat moved by it.

52 people died in the London bombings... I was unfortunate enough to be travelling on the underground at the time, I was fortunate enough to not be hurt. Imagine telling someone in London at that time to shut up because it's not a big deal.

And don't get be started on how the UK public and media are *still* going on about Diana. 1 person dies and we still hear about it 11 years later.

I don't normally respond to this sort of thing but as the topic is Hypocrisy it seemed appropriate.
