This is a question Meeting people from the internet

Monty Boyce asks: Have you ever had a real-life meet with somebody you first knew from the internet? How did it go? How long until the Asbo expires?

I'll tell you who I've not met from the internet.
The three b3ta users who have threatened to find me in real life, and presumably carry out violent acts of out dubious legality; among them was Mortal Wombat, last seen earlier this week having a massive online breakdown.

I'd love to have a good barney with some internet folk, but sadly it seems the individuals concerned can't find their own arses with an atlas, or even inhabit any world that exists outside the confines of their own heads.

By the way lads, if your offer still stands, I'm on nights this week so I won't be in most of the time. Next Tuesday or Wednesday morning would be best.

Shit, I can't believe I missed MW having a breakdown. Do you have a link?

Look down the page.
And on the next page. And the one after that.

Even if it's not MW himself it's someone who's got his gimmick down pat: they've got absolutely nothing to say, but by god they like to say it a lot.

Half term ends on Friday mate,
They'll be eating gloy and not being allowed to handle scissors by then.

Gloy!
There's a name I haven;t heard since the 70's! Crappy glue bottles with a red spreader top that was always completely gummed up and covered in glitter.... happy days

The internet has developed into a breeding ground for "vocally brave" people.
Who think they can go around saying anything and acting a cunt.
These people are the lowest of the low in my opinion, I'd rather have a dinner party with Jonathan King and Garry Glitter than waste my breath on them.
Xbox live and Playstation network are awful for this too, mouthy people who think they own the world and their opinion is the only correct one and just shout and act like a prick to get their "point" across. This is one case for ethnic cleansing.

It seems appalling ignorance and partisan aggression are no longer exclusive to red-top journalists.

Indeed.
The internet used to be a place for free thinking and the exchange of ideas.
Now cunts have moved in and trashed the place.

Xbox live is much more enjoyable if you mute everyone and only talk to your friends in a party.

^this
Way too many "brave" people on the internet now.

Gone are the days of IRC where you could track down someones IP address and frighten them!

"These people are the lowest of the low in my opinion". Good job your opinion doesn't count then.

I see you had to track down my posts to have another bitch.
I can see why you flounced, you must not make friends easily.

+1 ignore.

This used to happen to me
Around 10 years ago after a stint on the dole i used to work in an all night garage. This was frequented after 12pm by the usual drunken stumblebums and normally it was all fine. However the garage was in a less than salubrious neighbourhood and around once a week you'd get the local bad boys trying out their freshly stolen credit cards or the scallys who thought it was fun to knock all the pumps off the stands etc and they would get worked up when i refused to serve them.

They were always very cocky, gentlemen who would regularly offer to meet me after work when i wasn't locked in and give me a good hiding. They usually pointed out that i was only standing up for myself because i was behind a grotty peice of glass. I would calmly inform them that they were also behind the glass and that i finished work at 8am. This happened around once every two weeks and not once did anyone turn up in the morning to exchange views.

So you're giving it "come and have a go" from the safety of your internet connection.
