Nativity Plays
Every year the little kids at schools all over get to put on a play. Often it's christmas themed, but the key thing is that everyone gets a part, whether it's Snowflake #12 or Mary or Grendel (yes, really).
Personally I played a 'Rich Husband' who refused to buy matches from some scabby street urchin. Never did see her again...
Who or what did you get to be? And what did you have to wear?

Hmmmmm
Well, I'm a non religious type so the only part I ever played was "The snowman".
Yes, thats a very uninteresting point i know. I generally read the QOTW and look at the image challenges when I read B3TA but this, BY A LONG COUNTRY MILE, has to be the most uninteresting subject matter i have ever come across !!!
What have we got here? a few posts with something that MAY just about register as a smile? Nothing like some of the falling off the chair type laughing and clutching my side in pain when innebriated I have done on some previous QOTW's.
So come on, PLEASE, I couldn't give a hoot about some mong who forgot his lines or some irritating cherub who cacks his pants etc.
Who exactly chooses the QOTW and how can we put forward some sugestions?
How about something like (and probably done before) "Funniest things that have ever happened to you" as I have a god damn truck load of things I can put on there !!
Sorry for the rant, but i cannot even be bothered to read any more of this QOTW. And thats a first for me !!!
Anyone else agree?
Length? pretty short this week !! BOOOOOOOOOOOO

Some valid points
But I believe the QOTW is intended to engage us, as much as entertain us.
So "funniest thing ever" would have two flaws:
1/ It would use our limited collective resource of amusing anecdotes too fast, risking a long-term shortage if we dump them all in one go. Pearoasts can be good, but in moderation.
2/ We need moderation and theme. The slapstick stuff can only shine true when it's balanced; with pathos, bathos, tragedy, observation, philosophy, and all the rest of life's rich tapestry (see 'the nicest thing anyones ever done for me' et. al. for a good QOTW with less laughter). Also, it's easier to engage when you're following a common thread of tales, rather than randomly bouncing across the human universe.

QOTW Themes
Well, it was only a suggestion. I ususlly love reading the QOTW but some of the last ones over the last few months have been piss poor to say the least. They had better have something DAMNED good next week as a contrast or I may find that i have scattered the toys far and wide after being ejected from my pram in a huff !!!!
All I like to do is use this as humourous chewing gum for the eyes in the morning generally but this one ? just very very poor. And as such i have not enjoyed my sunday morning so far.

But
have you actually ever posted anything other than the two posts in your profile? If not, it's a wee bit like complaining that your free lunch doesn't taste very good.

I'm glad you said that...
I was going to reply to the original post earlier, but my early-morning eloquence wasn't up to your standard.
And I was also going to point out there is a question called 'question of the week suggestions'. Mr ranty-man might want to try there, and wait until the next qotw.
Tsk.

He's only liked ten QOTW posts according to his profile
in the sixteen months he's been here. Not a good rate of return.

I disagree actually
Some of the stories have made me chuckle quite a bit.
It makes a change from all the stories about ill-advised drunken shags with unattractive partners and self-congratulatory tales of the poster's own cuntery, idiocy and/or criminal behaviour because the other person "deserved it".
[Or stories where the poster admits poor and criminal standards of motorcycle riding, yet blames a "woman putting on her makeup" for his crash. Still, at least the turkeys were ok, eh?]
A week of tea-towels and Jesus raps is quite a refreshing change.

It's called question of the week.
Not question of the week only if you behaved well and didn't do anything wrong or hateful.
I'm not keen on the bragging stories about shagging fat girls etc but if a story is well written, funny or interesting that that is what is important. Just skim the teenage bravado and read the good stuff.
I just wish people would stop whining about qotw without doing anything about it like suggesting a good qotw or putting forward their stories.

It's all good...
Like b3ta pointed out - if you're not into this QOTW then skip it and post elsewhere on the site. Easy!
