I spent the weekend in a recording studio with my band
now I'm knackered

we (the engineer/producer) spent 6 hours setting up the drum sound on Saturday, followed by a couple of hours of lacklustre playing.

We left dejected.

We got in yesterday and recorded 14 songs and got 4 of them mixed into an awesome demo.

:-D

Edit: new recordings can be heard here

annoying
Was just looking at houses on an estate agents site, www.codys.info . On some of the property listings is a "View this property on video" link. This opens a .WMV file.

It's quite a good feature, and it's quite professionally produced; except for one problem.

The woman providing the narrative speaks as if you're standing there shaking your head and saying, "No, no, nope, sorry no, that's bollocks, you're talking shit love"

She sounds like an Asda greeter on the tannoy. Listen for yourself

Rewiring
I'm having the shed wired up. It'll need to power a washing machine, a tumble dryer and maybe a chest freezer. What rating wire do I need to go buy? I already have the consumer unit

banal question about dishwashers
What's a good value dishwasher detergent? I'm not paying a small fortune for a big brand tablet with blue stripes and red balls set into them, and conversely I don't want the Tesco value ones either. Something that's cheap and effective.

Oh, and I live in a hard water area too.

smints
strange person that I am, I collect smint boxes. however, I have to trek down to morrisons to get anyhting other than mint, and even then I can only get peppermint and the teeth whitening version of the freshmint ones. I hope one day to journey to the land of "co-op" to getthe mythical fruit flavoured ones. idk why I'm saying this.

Office Christmas Parties
This year, I've noticed the lack of the traditional office chrimble party - by which I mean that every other year, from about mid-October, my colleagues and I have to deal with a nightly onslaught of drunken passengers fighting, falling over, shagging in the carriages, falling asleep and missing their stop, not to mention the sick, blood and half drunk cans of stella.

Not had a single problem so far (touch wood!) - so what's going on? Has the 'credit crunch' killed the office p*ssup or has the entire population suddenly turned sensible?

What a great message from imdb!
WARNING: This motion picture contains explicit portrayals of violence; sex; violent sex; sexual violence; clowns and violent scenes of violent excess, which are definitely not suitable for all audiences.

methinks it contains sex, violence and clowns!

I went to see Black Stone Cherry at the Manchester Acadamy last night
And I'm still excited about it.

Did anyone else go? Or indeed, has anyone else heard of them?

Not only was the gig amazing and the band fantastic, but I managed to get right to the front, AND I got my picture taken with my favourite member afterwards. Its the wallpaper on my phone, so I have a little happy every time I open it.

A challenge
"bit of a cock up on the catering front" (bonus points for identifying the quote)

I've settled in for the night and had enough to drink to stop me getting to any shops.

Trouble is, I have 3/4 of a litre of Bacardi, 1 thimble full of cokey cola and nothing else to mix it with.

Neat Barcardi makes me gag!

In the fridge I have (amongst other stuff)

1 litre of Tescos chocholate milk
Punnet of strawberries
Couple of pints of milk
4 pounds of tomatoes
bottle of soda water
blueberries
eggs
jif lemon juice
jif lime juice
1 bottle of cheap Rose wine

Use your latent cocktail bar skills to suggest a way of using these ingredients to enable me to get the Barcadi down me neck!

I promise to try the best suggestion by 9pm

Concrete Blonde
They were a 90s band. This seems like the sort of place that would have some fans of theirs.

Anyone?
