I just don't see the point in hounding him and being generally unpleasant
if he's still mental it'll soon become apparent and he'll end up on everyone's ignore list or flounce. If he's not, then he's getting a hard time for nothing.

as much as I love a bit of drama, but he's "under treatment" as opposed to better, and not massively humble, seeking attention and forgiveness from a crowd of people he knows is going to lay into him. I don't see that as particularly healthy.
