if you like curry then the Chicken Balti soup is well worth trying.
The ones that come in little plastic pots that go in the microwave are good too. Particularly Sainsbury's moroccan chicken one

my main objective is to avoid really high calorie ones. I saw a soup that was about 500 calories for one smallish serving

Bachelors Express I think is the name, even the meaty, ricey ones are fairly good calorie wise. Filling too.
I find that a lot of the tinned ones taste the same after a while.

I like meaty soups but wouldn't trust them from a can so that may be a very good option thanks.

as long as you get all the nutrients your body needs to function, any shortfall in calories will be met by your fat stores.
This is a good thing.
What people forget is that it is far more dangerous to your health to be overweight than it is to reduce your calorie intake.

also, they need to contain the right sort of things. Proteins and fats are quite important.
Energy drinks are not and will not do you any favours, particularly if you have them instead of food.
