I gaz and text Disasterprone fairly frequently
Almost always about football. There are 4 other B3tans who I've been blessed with the facility to text, and I'm sure they all regret it. Had a really nice gaz exchange with TGB Friday about laser eye surgery, although somehow we ended up talking about who'd be on a B3tan Eggheads team and why.

interesting topic
what was your final team?
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 12:50, Reply)
Well, me and TGB, as it was our idea
Monty, because TGB suggested he might fly into a violent rage and trash the little isolated room if he got a question wrong. Chompy, because after being told it was the right answer he'd explain why it was the right answer. And Amberl, cos she's at Oxford an' that. We're still holding auditions if you'd like to try out

I'd volunteer for film questions

Tryout question
What are the only three films to have won the "Big Five" Oscars - Best Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenplay?
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:16, Reply)
Gone with the Wind
Titanic and errrrr Godfather 2?
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:23, Reply)
Wrong, wrong and wrong
Not bad guesses though, especially the first one
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:23, Reply)
Blimey I'm really surprised by the actual answer!

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:28, Reply)
Yeah they're not films you could guess, are they?

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:40, Reply)
Ben Hur, Lord Of The Rings 3, Titanic?

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:23, Reply)
Wrong, wrong and wrong. Sorry mate
Lord of the Rings didn't win a single acting Oscar across all three films, in fact I think only Ian McKellen was eevn nominated (for Fellowship)

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey?

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:29, Reply)
No
And it's a fucking travesty. But then neither Alfred Hitchcock or Stanley Kubrick ever won a directing Oscar, so what the fuck do they know?
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:40, Reply)
My friend is filming on eggheads next week!
But answer me this. If Jeremy Vine is in Glasgow at middday presenting Eggheads, how is he still on Radio 2?!
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 12:50, Reply)
A Stargate...
..would appear to be the most logical answer.
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 12:53, Reply)
I disagree
If you're pursuing an explanation from the realms of sci-fi, at least make it good sci-fi. Bill and Ted may be missing a phone box
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 12:59, Reply)
Mayhaps he hath access to a Holly-Hop drive?

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 13:01, Reply)
Points for Red Dwarf reference
but it would be far too unstable for the required purpose
