I'm going to see Mogwai on Sunday.
What are you bummers doing this weekend?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:22, 65 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I shall be in deepest darkest Cumbria.
Woo on Mogwai though.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:24, Reply)
Nothing.
I'm getting wandering feet again. Wanna GO Somewhere or DO something.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:24, Reply)
This is what happens when you get back from a long trip abroad.
You get itchy feet.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:38, Reply)
Trench foot, that is.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:39, Reply)
if it were trench foot then at least I wouldn't be bored.
I'm looking forward to getting to uni just so I can get my brain working and getting used.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:43, Reply)
Can you get hold of the reading list for any of your course in advance?
You could get a head start.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:45, Reply)
got it - started reading already.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:48, Reply)
Mogwai? Are they still alive?
I'm going to Bristol to visit Ms Foxtrot's sister, with her other sister. The city will briefly become the most competitive place on the planet.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:27, Reply)
Past their best but still superb live.
New record is a bit dull though.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:32, Reply)
Their take on post-sadcore leaves much to be desired.
(I have never heard a single note they've played)
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:33, Reply)
You would like their first two records.
And stop teasing me about Sadcore.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:34, Reply)
I can't. I'm sorry.
It's the worst name for a style of music I've ever heard. Worse, even, than 'hardbag'.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:36, Reply)
Worse than hellectro, crabcore and donk?

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:37, Reply)
I'm afraid so.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:38, Reply)
Good lord.
Are you sure?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:39, Reply)
Quite sure, yes.
Something about the 'sadcore' tag makes me laugh like a drain.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:42, Reply)
Ooh you big handbag sporter.
I wish I'd coined the term now.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:50, Reply)
I've spending the weekend in Wales with some friends.
Wasn't Mogwai in the Jungle Book?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:30, Reply)
Gremlins.
You mean Mowgli, unless you are jesting, in which case '3/10 see me'
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:32, Reply)
See your what?

Don't tell me you've seen a mainstream film from the last 30 years?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:38, Reply)
I have. It was fucking shit.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:38, Reply)
I know I should have expected this response
but somehow it still make me giggle
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:51, Reply)

If I am still allowed to after this fucking week.

Then either Oxford Bash or hide at home.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:31, Reply)
You still owe me a crippling and an eye-shitting.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:33, Reply)
It will come.
When you least expect it.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:34, Reply)
I will come when you least expect it.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:37, Reply)
Hide at home.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:34, Reply)
I believe this to be the sensible option.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:35, Reply)
It is sensible.
I have a feeling I'll be moping in bed doing nothing. Or out walking if the weather improves.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:44, Reply)
My woes have kept me up half the night.
I am in desperate need of sleep.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:46, Reply)
Then have some calming tea and go to bed early tonight.
/sensible boring side.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:49, Reply)

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:36, Reply)
Have you been at the cooking sherry this morning?

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:38, Reply)

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 9:40, Reply)
Who or what is a Mogwai?
Is it one of those popular new 'beat combos' that all of the young people are 'grooving' to?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 8:47, Reply)
It's totally hip daddy-o.

(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 9:21, Reply)
Woo! I've done all my jobs for the day.
I just have to sit here and look pretty till 12 and then I can go home, whereupon I shall place half a stick of eyeliner on and bog off to Leeds for goth type shennanigans.

Going to see a quiz show taping on Friday Night
Alexander Armstrong's Pointless. I've not seen it but the fact that they tack the host's name on the start doesn't fill me with confidence. Even though I like the guy.

By going I get on the list for tickets to see QI and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, so there's that.

If anyone's interested and can get to BBC Television Centre before 6 on Friday, my ticket admits up to 4.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 9:03, Reply)
it's not bad that
the twist is that the contestants have to guess the least obvious answer to the question.
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 9:10, Reply)
I'm keeping an open mind
and it's something a bit different to do. Anyone been in a TV audience? Is it good?
(, Thu 17 Feb 2011, 9:18, Reply)
Also, attending the Black Country Derby on Sunday
so may well get knifed by a prognathous Dingle after we play them off the park.

Rockin' it HARD at the Oxford bash
I've bought a bottle of Hendricks Gin especially for it, even though we'll be in pubs...
