yeah it is.
I normally wouldn't say anything, but I've not had a single night of uninterrupted sleep since friday last week. I'm fucking tired and it's making me shitty with everyone so I'd rather just ask them to keep it down.

No, that's completely fair, I do understand.
I'm lucky that I can drown out most things when I'm trying to sleep, so it wouldn't bother me too much!
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 8:37, Reply)
I can't. Going to sleep, I cannot get there if it's too noisy, and I wake up if there is loud noise.
And once I wake up, I don't get properly back to sleep again.

Can't you just kill them?
Several consecutive nights of disturbing your sleep is sufficient to persuade most courts of law to return a verdict of justifiable homicide*

*not legally binding
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 8:37, Reply)
Not going to kill anybody.
Except maybe the girl who tried to get in my room last night thinking it was hers. That's how drunk she was. Couldn't even read the sign that said "POPPET" on the front of it.

AA might be on to something above
Drown them out. Specifically, out in the lake.

Funnily enough there IS a lake about 150 yards away...

I'm abandoning the "I can see you" idea before it gets too creepy
Too late?
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:02, Reply)
far too late.

I was thinking it might be worthwhile getting your hands on a good subwoofer, and setting some seriously bassy tracks through that when you get up in the mornings, and they're still sleeping.
The vibrations will fuck with their heads, I think.
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:10, Reply)
This is a top idea
Not least since decent subwoofers are well cheap and students are loaded
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:10, Reply)
I'm not vindictive.
I get up very early in the mornings for classes - I have 8 am classes.
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:11, Reply)
In that case, you are a far finer person than I.
Can you listen to music when you're falling asleep?
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:13, Reply)
nope.
get the tunes stuck in my head and have them running around for hours.
(, Thu 3 Mar 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Shit, that'd be the best way to help
If you can get used to noise as you're falling asleep, you're less likely to wake up, I think.

It worked for a friend of mine who lived next to a large crossroads in Nottingham, with traffic running 24/7. She couldn't sleep at first, but by having some music on in the background as she slept, it let her relax.
