Two facebook updates this evening have pissed me off
The first is a link to a hatchet job article about the new Enterprise Zones from someone who detests everything the coalition government does on principal. The second is someone laughing disdainfully at the protesters who exercised their democratic right to protest and failing to tell the difference between them and the minority of "anarchist" twats who covered their faces and vandalised shops.

What is it about this country and needing to be so tribalistic about politics? Why do people have to defend half of all politicians to the hilt while proclaiming the other half are all the worst shower of cunts imaginable?

Alt Q: What's your Sunday night tipple? Mine's a Hoegaarden.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:09, 78 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I'll be honest, I hope the masked fucks causing trouble at the protest yesterday got their heads caved in.
They're nothing but scum.

Alt: Had I a choice, it'd likely be Stella. Tonight however, it's been Strongbow, left over from last night.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:16, Reply)
The 'protests' were the clearest sign yet that
those responsible are actually more stupid than football hooligans.

I also like a ho in the garden.

I thought you liked to drink shit australian lager whilst getting fucked.
Cockfosters.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Ha! I don't even like lager. In your face.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:55, Reply)
I don't want your member in my face!
How is your move progressing?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:01, Reply)
There's been a development which I will elaborate on and open for discussion
tomorrow.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:06, Reply)
Open it for discussion now.
I'm bored.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:07, Reply)
I'm not moving in.
I had a big reccy on Friday and I hate the area. Plus he has not done what he said he would to the house and I don't want to live in a shit hole. I haven't told him yet as I didn't go to Wales in the end last night. Going to speak to him tomorrow and offer to paint the room a neutral colour.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:17, Reply)
So where will you live instead?

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:20, Reply)
Bristol with my mate Ben for a couple of weeks as he has a spare room
and keep looking in Wales. There are a couple of cottages that have dropped below 150 in Caerleon which is my budget to buy so trying to decide what to do long term really. I have an option of renting with some mates in Bristol but won't work long term.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:23, Reply)
How much will the bridge cost you if you commute?

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:26, Reply)
5.70 a day and about 10 in petrol there and back.
Not an option. I think I am going to have to buy but will need to sort out somewhere short term for a few months.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:29, Reply)
That must be tricky.
How do you think your mate will take the news that you're going to make alternative plans?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:31, Reply)
I don't how, he is very welsh so probably violently and irrationally.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Take a sheep with you when you tell him.
He'll be too busy fucking that to notice.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:39, Reply)
As the only australian on OT, I resent this on principle.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:13, Reply)
VB is drinkable
Fosters is shit.

Fosters is a cooking-lager.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:14, Reply)
VB is foul.
the only good stuff is Tooheys extra dry. Or Red Duck. I fucking LOVE Red Duck. If I have to drink, and that's available, that'll be what I drink.

ahh who am I kidding, I don't drink much anymore.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:16, Reply)
I'm partial to Coopers
and Little Creatures make some tasty stuff too.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:19, Reply)
Little Creatures pale ale is luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:20, Reply)
I'm not familar with Red Duck or Tooheys.
Maybe they taste better brewed locally, rather than in the UK?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:19, Reply)
probably.
the Red Duck provadore is only about an hour and half from my house. and tooheys is a queensland beer.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:20, Reply)
My sister lived in Aus for 5 years....
Before she got deported.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:25, Reply)
I know - you've mentioned it before.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:26, Reply)
Apparently she isn't banned from entry anymore.
So that's something.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:31, Reply)
*wonders what you would cook with it*
I think the only larger I like is Corna and Effis, but the weather has to be really hot, in a guarden of some kind, and 'tops'.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:24, Reply)
yeah but principles aside
would you choose to drink it?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:15, Reply)
shit no,
I like gin and lemonade. Or champagne. Or wine. I rarely drink beer.

never knew that was a real place til I got to britain. Made me giggle.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:18, Reply)
I quite like the fact that the area, which isn't even a borough, is internationally known.
The road pararell to the one I grew up on is called "Mount Pleasent" too.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:22, Reply)
to be fair - I knew of it only through here.
but it's pretty cool.

I don't care much for these 'blonde' beers
What can you suggest that I might enjoy?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:54, Reply)
I think my favourite is Zywiec
which is polish and a fucker to ask for in a pub because I don't know how to pronounce it.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:02, Reply)
I like that one.
Although I've never seen it on tap anywhere, I know that the supermarket knock out the (large) bottles for next to nothing.

Is it available in pubs?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:04, Reply)
Tsu-vee-etch
by sight reading.

I tell you what, though. That is a bastard of a language to learn. Between the lack of vowels, and the wierd case endings, I'm finding it 'challenging' to say the least.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:07, Reply)
Thankfully, you probably don't need to learn it.
And the Poles I've spoken to, all speak good English.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:10, Reply)
I found this too.
there was a lovely lovely waitress in whitstable when Noel and I went out for tea, she was polish and spoke perfect english.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:31, Reply)
it is
but only in bottles as far as I'm aware.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:09, Reply)
They were knocking out the 'larger' bottles for a quid in supermarket the other day.
Worth a look.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:12, Reply)
You know who I blame?
I blame the people that go around giving the lurgy to other people. Those people should be taken out and shot.

Alt: I have a rather massive cup of decaf tea. So yay me.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:49, Reply)
decaf is never 'yay'
What sort of lurgy have you got?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:50, Reply)
I am completely lurgy-free
and back from my pit stop, if anyone's interested.

However, I believe I may have heard Roota mentioning once or twice that she was lurgified. You might have missed it. I know she doesn't like to bring it up...

Also: decaf is yay when you want to actually sleep at night.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:52, Reply)
I read that Roota was lurgy-city
Where did you pit-stop take you?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:55, Reply)
Well, in common with many lady b3tans
I was up on blocks this week. This is no longer the case.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 22:57, Reply)
Fell off your bike eh?
Never mind. Have a nice hot bath and a Biscuit Boost. You'll be fine!

How is the Tropicana coming along? I can't wait for the chance to swim in the open air, in Weston again...
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:00, Reply)
I don't think it would take Mystic Meg to tell you the Tropicana is essentially fucked
especially as long as that Welsh twat runs the council. They fucked about for so long they've basically priced everybody out of the market.

"Oh, you've met all our demands? Well done you. Did we mention we need the building to be able to fly as well?"

It's going to end up as a council office or something. Or a drug rehabilitation centre.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:06, Reply)
I remember going there on a regular basis as a kid.
Long before it became the Tropicana too, they used to have massive diving boards before the introduction of the 'Pineapple' slide!

Last time I spent any time in Weston was at the Atlantic Hotel, where 'every night was a carvery'

I've not been back.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:09, Reply)
I moved to Weston a few months before it shut
and as it was winter, I never visited the place. Would be good to have it back open again, though. I remember a really good open air pool in Berlin I used to go to as a kid.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:15, Reply)
As a kid, I loved going there.
Didn't they turn it into a skating place for a while?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:24, Reply)
no idea
maybe it was just a bad winter.

When are the brizzle b3tans going to come here for a bash?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:26, Reply)
Where? Weston.
T4 on the beach doesn't really appeal.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:27, Reply)
pffft
my local is okay. £2.60 or £2.70 a pint, I think...
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:28, Reply)
For a pint of what though?
There used to be a popular biker pub in Weston that was always busy.

What are the pubs like these days?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:32, Reply)
they do stella, guinness (i think), stowford press, and various badger beers
I don't know about other weston pubs tough, as I am old an boring and never go anywhere.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:36, Reply)
You need to go out more!
Make your other half take you on a pub crawl.

That's the future.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:40, Reply)
Pigs. Infecting innocent maidens,b3th!

(, Mon 28 Mar 2011, 0:12, Reply)
I got pissed off by someone on my facebook saying on the morning of the protests
"Ooh, it feels just like Christmas! So excited!"
-2xDOUBLEFACEPALM ACTION!!!-

Alt: Just glugged down some water. I'm still really ill. Combed a bit of my hair, will do the rest tomorrow and I must buy a decent hairbrush.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:34, Reply)
you poorly then hun?

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:35, Reply)
Have been for about a week now
Am fluctuating wildly though. Felt rough on Monday, ok on Tuesday, then steadily worse then better then worse. I sound like a seal, I'm coughing up red stuff and I can't stand up for long wihtout feeling woozy.

Proper lurgy. How's uni?
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:38, Reply)
Coughing up red stuff? Might be time to go to the docs, love.
Uni's good thus far. people are slowly settling down, which is a relief. I managed to show everyone on my floor my purple flanny pyjamas last night, which was a little embarrassing, but I havent died from that so it's all good.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:41, Reply)
It's probably from coughing my throat raw, it happens to me with these sort of things.
Nothing wrong with purple (is that flannel? if so I approve) pjs! I'm yet to show anyone but Charms my amazing pyjamas, but it's too hot for them right now. Oh well.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:42, Reply)
aha yeah they're flannel. and I figure that res people can live with my pyjamas. They're very modest pyjamas anyway.
certainly more modest then the daytime clothes a lot of girls wear.

GO TO THE DOCTORS. Don't make me shun you.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:44, Reply)
Urgh it'll take ages. Don't have time. I'll be better soon
I've not even had it for 7 days so they'll probably tell me to go home and rest or something.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:47, Reply)
lies. if you're coughing up red stuff they'll take it seriously.

(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:49, Reply)
right, NEXT CLASS IN 5 MINUTES.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:49, Reply)
Poor the Lampy :(
The youth of today don't know how to protest. At least in the days of football violence you knew who the targets were.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:41, Reply)
I am apathetic.
No one likes cuts but I disagree with tax avoidance Arcadia group-styleeee. But I'm not going to sit in a shop as that will do little but damage to "the cause" and I don't really shop there anyway. Meh.
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:44, Reply)
All they do, is scare those who work there.
Anyway, I'm going to bed! BED god damn you. To get some snooooze!

*Fingers crossed I get some sleep*
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:46, Reply)
Best of luck with sleeping.
Night!
(, Sun 27 Mar 2011, 23:47, Reply)
There was a march, which was the same as most others before it. Dignified yet impotent, and full of women like lovely Joy, and kids in prams.
And there was a breakaway mongy riot for twats, in Oxford Street, who did little else but shake up customers and poor staff on minimum wage. Well done fucking mongs. Stickin it to Da Man, there.

Nobody here will understand the difference, dj. They'll just assume everyody on the march rampaged up the West End with a mask on.
