I'm one of you crazy kids now. But I need to know - is is shit to buy a case for it? I'm a bit scared about scratching/shattering the screen or camera lens as I've cancelled the insurance on it.

If it's not shit, are those rubber surrounds or the leather flip ones best?

the flippy leather ones are bent, but if you get a black rubber or silicone one it will just look like the phone.

I second the rubber/silicone idea
I attribute the fact that my old Ipod lasted about 6 years to the rubber case. Really actually quite protective and if you drop it in a drunken haze, it bounces, so no damage there.
