well I don't know where to start
I had the chicken korma from a kit I think and it was hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:10, Reply)
I think we've had this conversation before but Kormas are the mildest curry you can have.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:12, Reply)
yeah, but it was fucking I mean FUCKING HOT
I had something once that was chicken and onions in a yellow curry sauce and it was well tasty and not hot at all.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:13, Reply)
Probably put too many chillies in the packet. *shrugs*
Try Jeff's pasanda.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:15, Reply)
*shrugs* maybe i will then *shrugs*

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:15, Reply)
I won't fuckin' bother next time.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:16, Reply)
I was only shrugging cause she shrugged.

It couldn't have been a Korma then K.
The Korma is really really mild.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:15, Reply)
No, it was a Korma.
This is it.

and I did add some extra spice but it wasn't enough to make it that spicy, I add that much spice to everything I cook and it's not spicy. This shit was HOT.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:23, Reply)
Two possible things have happened here K.
1/ It was a lot hotter than it should have been.
2/ You're a curry bender.

What do you think?
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:27, Reply)
1 obviously.
OBVIOUSLY
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:29, Reply)
The answer is to make your own then.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:35, Reply)
*shrugs*
maybe I will then
*shrugs*
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:39, Reply)
If you make them yourself they taste so much better than anything from a jar or packet.
And you can make it exactly how you want it.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:40, Reply)
I don't know enough about curry to experiment

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:44, Reply)
If you make a basic curry sauce
www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/sauce.htm

You'd then use that as a base sauce for other dishes, so if you wanted to make a Madras, you'd be looking at adding www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/madras.htm to it, or if you wanted to make a mild curry, you'd use the basic curry sauce and www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/korma.htm

You can experiment by adjusting the second recipe so that it isn't too spicey, so add a little less of the hot stuff (you can always add more, but you can't take it out as easily) and work your way from there.

oooooooohhhhhh
thanks jeff
the roommate and I have decided to make curry this weekend thanks to your suggestions :)
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:53, Reply)
Okay.
Cook some chicken. Put some natural yoghurt on it and pretend it's a curry.*

*I may be taking the piss slightly.

Seriously though, why not look at the Pasanda.

What is your favourite/usual order?

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:17, Reply)
Vegetable biryani.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:24, Reply)
I could quite go a veggie curry about now.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:26, Reply)
first curry I had was at this tiny restaurant at the beach
they had this amazing dish with zucchini, brocoli, onions, carrots and chicken, spicy but so yum, and apparently, it's not actually anything you can order on a menu anywhere else
fuckers
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:30, Reply)
Should you ever make it over the pond.
You could eat curry every night.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:33, Reply)
I could probably, but is it really that great for you to be able to eat every night?

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 20:35, Reply)
