Some people are coming over to play the LOTR board game tonight
:(
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:32, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Which one?

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:32, Reply)
I have no idea.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:34, Reply)
The Risk variant isn't too bad. The map's a bit stupid though.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:34, Reply)
Hang on, that's not a LOTR board game
that's a varient of Risk. And Risk isn't geeky.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:40, Reply)
LOTR Risk is both.
Especially if you bought the expansion with Mordor on.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:41, Reply)
I don't actually know where my copy is
I've only got normal Risk at home.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:41, Reply)
I lost my copy, and my dog chewed all the pieces of my LOTR chess set.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:54, Reply)
I don't know why, but I get the feeling that is a lie intended to belittle me somehow.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:58, Reply)
Man, fuck you. I loved that chess set.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 14:00, Reply)
Did you keep it on a shelf in your bedroom and polish the pieces every saturday?
Only one time you had got it down to play a game with your pen pal and you left the bedroom door open and Taffy the Jack Russell got in and went to town on those bad boys like they were dead rabbits and one piece just disappeared and you had to check his poo for a week until it came through?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 14:03, Reply)
No, the pieces were made of plastic and they were on our coffee table. And he was a schnauzer, you fuck.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 14:06, Reply)
Calm down dear boy, I was only asking.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 14:08, Reply)
Can I make it clear I won't be playing.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:33, Reply)
A bit late to back away now.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:34, Reply)
that's a bit random and suspicious, really
why would people come to your house to play if you're not playing?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:38, Reply)
I was away for the weekend, and my housemate invite people over.
He said "I assume you're not interested"
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:52, Reply)
Did you say "YOU'RE TOTALLY WRONG AND I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T INVITE ME FIRST! IT'S MY FAVORITE GAME EVER!"

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:59, Reply)
are you afraid you'll enjoy it?
what are you man or hobbit?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:39, Reply)
pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:45, Reply)
You can come round to my house and play Catan instead.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:45, Reply)
WOOD FOR SHEEP!!

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:46, Reply)
The cry of the seasoned Catan veteran.

(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:48, Reply)
the one with boats in is not suited for 6 players
either that or we played wrong, the barbarians kept kicking our arses
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:49, Reply)
Seafarers of Catan?
It's been a while since I played that one. I have the archaeology one, Settlers of the Stone Age.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:53, Reply)
not played that
I actually own none of them, but boardgames happen quite a lot at friends' houses
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:56, Reply)
I do a fair bit of boardgaming with my mates
Last Night on Earth is the current favourite, but there's some enthusiasm for dusting off Talisman.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 14:14, Reply)
haunted house on the hill
(or something like that) is a pretty good co operative one and i liked History of the World (again, I can't guarantee this is the real name) but I can't handle things with too many rules and strategies.

There was one cool one where you were a 3 legged tree beast and you controlled weird little creatures

Crunchy, Crunchy
I'm coming to Wales on Friday some where past Cardiff but before Swansea!
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:48, Reply)
Bridgend? Neath?
why the hell would you do that?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:49, Reply)
Stag do...Not sure where we are staying though, near to the coast somewhere
I'll keep an eye out for your melons
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 13:52, Reply)
hah
I bet it's Porthcawl, that's the sort of place people go. I'd say to come round for a brew, but I'm having tea and cake at a colleague's house (actually not too far from there)

have fun
