Awwwight dudes?
I've just got back from a weekend away at my holiday caravan on the mid Wales coast. It was sunny, peaceful, and beautiful.
So, in your opinion, where is the best place to go for a holiday in the British Isles?
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 21:37, 65 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I've been to Boscastle several times with mates
always really enjoyed it. Such a pity about the flooding.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 21:47, Reply)
Even though I was 9
Those pictures of the massive torrent of water sweeping though the village disturbed me.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 21:49, Reply)
I was in a tent in Polzeath the day that happened
not far down the road. Lots of rain. We had actually considered stopping off their but thought better of it. Which was lucky.

In answer to your question, generally I'd say Cornwall, because it's great, but I had an amazing holiday in the Outer Hebrides last year and that was pretty awesome too.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:33, Reply)
Me and DJ used to live in the Outer Hebrides
TRUFAX!

that and djtp's hideous genital deformities.

Anywhere that isn't 'the north'

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 21:58, Reply)
Shush your face
there's nothing wrong with the north.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:04, Reply)
Other than it isn't as good as the south.

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:05, Reply)
I don't think anywhere in these Isles is as good as Wales and the "South-West of England"/Cornwall

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:11, Reply)
I thought we established last week that you aren't allowed an opinion on the Internet.
;)
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:13, Reply)
Your parent's holiday caravan, surely?

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:08, Reply)
Yes, they own it, but...
really, they only own it for my pleasure, they'd have sold it if it wasn't for the fact that it is the only place I do any strenuous exercise.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:10, Reply)
Those kids clubs and their nightly discos!
I'll bet you were sitting there all :( until a blue-coat encouraged you to get up and dance.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:12, Reply)
Nah.
They don't have any of that nonsense, there are no holiday camp style parks in that part of the country, we're on a private owners site that is family run. It's the cycling and hiking that gets me pumping. I enjoy the natural area.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:17, Reply)

This logic you seem to apply to all situations,
You know the logic that has made you into the exciting, inspirational young Tory we all know and love. Are you not at all wOrried that it has made you a tiny bit bent, annoying and a bit of an oily tick?
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:57, Reply)
I have resisted to urge to scream "bully!" to all sorts of people on this forum all week, but now I feel that with you I must.

I'd be more likely to shout 'nonce' where Bobby's concerned.

Watching true grit at my mates, not as great as I was led to believe. Am I to understand you are a little drunk?

*giggles*
I might be.
I have very little tolerance for alcomahol. Therefore, two Smirnoff Ices on top of not much food, and I am just the right side of tipsy.

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 23:08, Reply)
You're back, are you?
I would have to agree with everybody about Cornwall. It's where you get the best chance of a bit of sunshine, whilst still being as far away as is humanly possible from London.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Also,
being such a small county, most of the 'attractions are easy to get to/do in the small amount of time that you're 'down there'...

(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 23:30, Reply)
Haha part time pikey
Did your dad lay a few drives whilst you were down there, whilst your mum dropped her knickers for a five bob knee trembler down by the communal bogs? Shoplift anything good?
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:54, Reply)
A static caravan.
Not deserving of hate as the owners of touring caravans are.
I've yet to see a pikey in an Atlas super :-P
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 22:57, Reply)
I've been to the Dales a few times.
It's got a good mix of landscape, things to see and cheap campsites. Plus it's only 40 minutes' drive from where I live.

Anywhere on the coast in Scotland between Nairn and Aberdeen
Forres, Elgin, Banff, Buckie...outstanding beauty and history. I enjoyed our holiday to Wales a couple of years back. We were based at Prestatyn but explored the north coast, Conwy Castle was a highlight and we went further south to Portmerion which was a fantastically unique experience.

Portmerion is mesmerizing.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 23:27, Reply)
Okay, I'll bite.
What is it memorizing?
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 23:29, Reply)
All the actors who portrayed The Magnificent Seven
Portmerion, like my good self, holds out the hope that one day the question will arise in a pub quiz and once victory has been claimed with the correct answer there will be much slo-mo borne-aloft-pon the shoulders type stuff abounding, girls fainting, grown men weeping etc. As long as the name Brad Dexter stays in the memory it shall be mine, oh yes.
(, Sun 19 Jun 2011, 23:37, Reply)
Haha
We just went to our local for Sunday night pub quiz. There were a grand total of two teams, and we both got exactly the same score.
