(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 14:50, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
apostrophes really are a total mystery to you, aren't they.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 14:52, Reply)

"?"

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 14:56, Reply)
nah, he has me on LOLignore innit
anyway, it was definitely a statement rather than a question!
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:08, Reply)
Not unless you remove "aren't they" it isn't.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:16, Reply)
a rhetorical question then.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:41, Reply)
Is this a rhetorical question?
I still think it would need a question mark. Or at the very least a percontation point*

*Yes I did just look that up
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:48, Reply)
One's legit I think
And the other is a very common and understandable mistake.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:02, Reply)
NO NO NO
just because it is common does not make it understandable or acceptable.

it is infuriating. apostrophes are so easy to use. how many times do you see FISH AND CHIP'S or BOOK'S FOR SALE... i hate it!
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:09, Reply)
..and this site
is all about grammatical accuracy
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:13, Reply)

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:18, Reply)
Your ruerning the internet's.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:22, Reply)
Except there's nothing really wrong with an apostrophe in the plural of an abbreviation.
It's a style choice at worst.

And it's a little rich to complain about that when you can't be arsed to put a question mark at the end of a question or capitalise the first word of a sentence.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:13, Reply)
It's the "it's" apostrophe that's wrong.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:24, Reply)
Im ruerning the internet's.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:28, Reply)
100% FACT

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:35, Reply)

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:35, Reply)
And he's not pluralising "corp"
He's eliding "corp has" which is also fine or arguably so.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:29, Reply)
Eliding
Good word. I like that.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:38, Reply)
WooHoo!
and that ladies and gentlemen is the first time my English Literature degree has been useful.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:45, Reply)
I would accept this level of grammar Naziing
If your post wasn't missing 5 capital letters, surely proper capitalisation is more basic than knowing is "its" has an apostrophe or not.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:28, Reply)
Or whether "if" is spelled with an "f" or an "s"

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:28, Reply)
Good Point
my typing, spelling and grammar are all far from perfect, but you won't see me Nazing other people on obscure points, I'm only giving swipe grief because she's being a blatant hypocrite.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:34, Reply)
Christ, it's another internet sheriff in town

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:38, Reply)
this one rides a bike rather than a white horse

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:40, Reply)
I do have a cowboy hat though
and a flappy coat.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:47, Reply)
you sound like you have a better
dressing up box than me
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:53, Reply)
Quite possibly
it does contain both chain-mail and rubber trousers, although I'm putting the latter on eBay, just trying to decide weather they'll make more money if I wash them or if I don't but pretend to be a girl.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:58, Reply)
hehe
how come you own chainmail? I helped make some once, but it was for the stupid ex for the wedding so there was no chance of me nicking that when I left
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:02, Reply)
For dressing up
I used to go to goth/fetish clubs and stuff and dress up a lot, not so much these days /old

It's actually a butchers apron that I adapted with some straps around the back, so basically if you have a jacket over it it looks like you have a chain-mail shirt on.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:07, Reply)
Oh, I know the ones
I know people to have got a few and made them into a full mail shirt. It's very light but it always leaves grey dust all over you.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:08, Reply)
maybe a different composition
mine's quite heavy, and appears to be knitted from stainless steel, no dust.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:12, Reply)
Seriously?
you have to be fucking kidding me.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:47, Reply)
and I think one of the full stops
would be better as a comma
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:32, Reply)
Two late .. i think the internet's our already been ruern'd.

(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 15:33, Reply)
