TalkTalk have to log their line faults with BT
so they're probably desperate to avoid admitting that might be the necessary step.

BT are cunts of the first water
I will have nothing to do with them.

At home I use Virgin as they're superior in every respect.
Unfortunately I'll be moving this year and I doubt I'll have access to cable, which means I'll have to go through the phone lines again.

Sad times.

that is a shame
I'd be sad to lose virgin cable and internet and stuff

Virgin aren't available in my area.
That's the area immediately adjacent to the CITY OF FUCKING LONDON.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:16, Reply)
Do you want me to explain why?
I can, if you're interested.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:20, Reply)
Can it include the number of pixels that Virgin have?

(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:28, Reply)
I expect the reason you can't tell the difference
is because you're trying to watch it on a 1998 Sony Trinitron.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:31, Reply)
Seriously
Please tell me why Virgin haven't tried to extend their cable network within the most densely populated bit of London.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:32, Reply)
I have no idea, really.
But Virgin use NTL's old network. I don't know how much more cable they've laid down since taking them over but it's got to be fucking expensive to rip up London's streets.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:35, Reply)
I'm pretty sure they haven't laid any.
But if you're going to lay it anywhere, surely London would be the place to do it since you're more likely to get a return on your investment.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:37, Reply)
You'd imagine so
I'm just wondering whether there's just not been a big enough incentive for them to do so. You'd want to be certain of a large customer base if you're going to apply to multiple councils to let you dig their roads up and take on the no doubt exorbitant installation costs .
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:40, Reply)
Actually, looking at their coverage map
Virgin really don't cover that many areas at all.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:47, Reply)
I would like to know too.

(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:35, Reply)
that'll slow your sexlife right down

(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:38, Reply)
They were going to cut my mum off when she was dying, even when we paid the bill and explained matters.
Fucking charmers.

TalkTalk cut off my television and could/would not reinstate it.
After about £30-40 on the phone to Bangalore and no TV for over a month, it became apparent that if I ever wanted to see television in my house again I would HAVE to use BT, from whom I've had no bother - yet.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 11:15, Reply)
Wow, I take it back then. That's a special kind of failure, right there.
