Rubbish.
There are tens of millions of people who play games regularly with no impact on their lives at all. Where on earth do you get these ideas from?
Is it the once in a blue moon "I was addicted to a game" articles that pop up in the media. When there are 60+ million games sold every year that means fuck all.

Why do you always pick on my sweeping statements as opposed to others?
Of course I don't mean everyone will automatically become addicted to computer games. I do however think that they are marginally more addictive than other hobbies.

I think the only other hobby which can become addictive is exercise.

playing computer games does NOT get you laid
this is why he is grumpy. it's not personal to you. it's just the build-up of intense sweaty hairy-palmed sexual frustration, which will culminate later in a sad lonely little wank over some pixels bunched together in the form of an ACTUAL WOMAN.

reading a book, watching a film, listening to music doesn't get you laid either
practically all my mates still play games a lot and nigh on all of them are in happy stable relationships with attractive and intelligent women.

shush i am having an exceptionally childish dig, not making a valid point
now agree with me about the sweaty little wank and move on.

although if i were to make a serious point, i would have to say that music/books etc are perhaps more likely to lead to getting laid, as you might go to a gig or a book club etc (oh god, that ghastly match.com advert.... i like old films....) whereas computer gaming clubs etc - come on, you KNOW it'd just be fat sweaty nerdy men.

no, because I disagree too much about the whole argument against computer games

it's not a line that would work on me
if i met a guy in a bar. "and what do you like to do?"

"i'm a 137th level paladin with secret red mage powers and my own dragon".

TAXI (for one)!

I strongly doubt anyone would ever actually say that and expect it to work
if you are getting that kind of line it's because they are trying to fob you off dear. Sorry to break it to you.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 16:02, Reply)
for the record i have NEVER had that kind of line!
but if anyone ever used it on a real life girl.... they would be going home alone, i reckon...

Sorry Beeg, but Imma gonna have to disagree with you there
I think it's people that are likely to get addicted to stuff that get addicted to hobbies, not that any hobby is more likely to be addictive.

Personally, I get really OCD about organising my music collection and I also get really hooked on games, but I also get really into a book and will do that in preference to anything else until I've finished it.

they are more addictive because they take longer and are more involving I think.

(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 15:53, Reply)
Because you make more sweeping statements than most.
