as of tomorrow it will no longer be my home and I am attempting to do two weeks' worth of packing in one evening. It's not going well.

I returned from holiday a few years ago to find that my house had been sold and I had to be out within four days. I had left the estate agent contact details, telling them I was going on holiday, but did they think to check with me that the date was fine? No, they did not. So it was a bit of a surprise to receive a call on Monday lunchtime informing me of this state of affairs. Trying to move all your worldly goods over the next few days in the back of a Citroen Saxo because you couldn't get a removal company at such short notice is not an easy challenge.

It's not as bad as all that, and it is my own fault for not sorting it out before.
