NEWS LINK!
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14988762

As far as I am concerned this guy is a fucking hero. ten years ago I was threatened on a London bus and because I refused to hand over my cash I got the shit kicked out of me and now have areas on my face where the hair won't grow so if I grow a beard it looks dumb. The bus was full of people and no-one did a thing, no-one even called the police. Which I did myself when I came round, covered in blood, on the deck below were I had started after being hurled down the stairs. By this point they were long gone and people had just watched them get off the bus and run off.

Do you think he is a hero? Would you have done or said anything? Opinions?

Oooops
Well I'm not deleting it now.

FAAAAAAKIN CAAAAAAAAAANT

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 14:56, Reply)
Jesus, would you look at that beard
No way is that guy younger than me.

Also: yes, hero. Shit at cricket though.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 14:52, Reply)
I think if children or old people are involved then I'd be more inclined to risk my own life with people like that.
But I would have called the police. Shit, no-one called the police?
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 14:56, Reply)
Nope, and the driver said to the police
"Oh I thought he had just fallen over" Yeh fallen over enough to have literally my entire head and hair covered in blood. I looked like something out of a horror film. I'm lucky I didn't lose any teeth though the front two were nicely chipped and came through my top lip.

in a bar one night, an enormous guy decided that i had said something rude to his 'bird'
i hadn't and wqasn't aware of his wrath. Anyway i went for a pee and he pokes me in the back and starts threatening me, saying he's gonna beat the shit out of me. I am and was a bit of wimp really so was a little worried, then a nice aussie guy finished pissing came over and told him to fuck off and almost got into a fight himself.

yey for intervening australians

I'd have been in a quandary at that point
Whilst I'd have been grateful for the assistance, I wouldn't have been able to resist the temptation to blend the words "Ashes" and "three innings defeats" into a convincing sneeze. I can tell you from experience that the latter is well tricky.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:01, Reply)
this was about 5 years ago...so would have been an amazing prediction!

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:03, Reply)
5 years ago you'd have been carted off to the loony bin for even dreaming of such a thing
These are glorious times we live in
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:06, Reply)
I thought when nI read the story that if he hadn't been an aussie he'd not have done it.

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:02, Reply)
He's really stupid

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:05, Reply)
it's a really tough decision to make, especially these days

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:07, Reply)
Living in the area should have taught him that gobbing off at the Hackney Mandem is going to result in an altercation
Like a gay he sat in a seat and got beat up and stabbed. Well done Mehmet Gandhi. Fucking twat.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:10, Reply)
So the Rory guide to london survival

Apart from being in Store Street for a couple of years I can't recall taking public transport in London after that.
Fuck that shit
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:16, Reply)
In those sort of circumstances I suspect a lot of people act first before thinking and it only occurs to them afterwards what a risk they were taking.
Good on him though.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:11, Reply)
From reading this, I have reached 2 conclusions
1. he's a brave bloke
2. Londoners, in general, are cunts.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:08, Reply)
No, people on buses are wankers

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:10, Reply)
Bus Wankers, in fact

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:11, Reply)
So if this had happened in the street
a different outcome would have occurred? I'm not convinced.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:12, Reply)
No, but buses are magnets for dicks

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:14, Reply)
so it would never happen outside London?
Price worth paying I reckon.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:16, Reply)
I wouldn't say never. Certainly far less chance up here in Edinburgh.
Remember, we kick the shit out of suicide bombers up here.

This has a tenuous link to the question...
Last night my best mate's girlfriend Tweeted Brendan Cole (also Antipodean) to say that if she got a reply she'd make her boyfriend buy tickets to his tour. He did - she sent me the screenshot - and subsequently my mate shelled out for said tickets. Although he would totally have been up for it anyway, he loves SCD.

Is he a) sweet or b) stupid?
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:14, Reply)
Both

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:15, Reply)
This whole post may as well be in Russian
1: who is brendan cole
2: what is SCD

Stirctly Come Dancing
and he was the first professional winner
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:17, Reply)
Did he present 'Hole in the Wall'

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:18, Reply)
No, that was Anton du Beke

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:19, Reply)
Only because Natasha Kaplinsky could dance. And was also smoking hot.

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:26, Reply)
No doubt, he won because he had the best partner
with the possible exception of Claire Sweeney who got a raw deal. Nonetheless the professional has to take credit for coaxing the talent out and making the best use of it. Ref. Aliona Vilani, who had a brilliant partner in Matt Baker but cannot choreograph for toffee.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:30, Reply)
Well that's true
but you have to balance that against the fact that I'd happily bang Ms Vilani until her arse fell off.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:35, Reply)
Tell me you're joking
What about the nose? I would put her below Rihanoff, Jordan (Ola), Virshilas, Boag, possibly Lowe because she's tall, Cacace and Jordan (James) in my SCD to-do list
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:39, Reply)
I still would though - certainly ahead of James Jordan you raging woofter.
Any one from Virshilas, Jordan (Ola, obviously) and Cacace.

Boag and Rihanoff don't really do it for me, but I wouldn't see them stuck.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:44, Reply)
Boag's an iffy one but dancing ability makes a woman hotter in my eyes
and she is magnificent, as is Lowe.

Anyone who wouldn't prioritise the violation of Kristina Rihanoff is a bumder.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:45, Reply)
Well if she was begging for it, but it wouldn't be a priority
Brunettes are far more my bag.

OLA JORDAN'S BLONDE
and surprisingly shy
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:53, Reply)
Yes but her hotness makes up for her blondeness.
This all makes sense in my head.

Hello mate
Nice to see you too

*cries*
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:17, Reply)
Hi mate.
Allow me to clarify. I enjoy SCD, mainly because there's a bit of skill involved and there's oodles of punani.

However, paying money to go and see the narcissistic bellend that is Brendan Cole is taking it a step too far.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:24, Reply)
I might end up going too
Ms Foxtrot is a sucker for anything with skilled dancing involved. Cole is a twat, but a fucking good dancer.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:28, Reply)
Well of course he is. He's a professional dancer.
I just wish that he didn't invade my living room of a Saturday evening with his WWE-style theatrics.
(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:31, Reply)
What you fantasize abotu whilst watching Strictly is entirely your concern

(, Wed 21 Sep 2011, 15:32, Reply)
