Off to Guernsey for a wedding on Friday.
Other than that work, job hunting, parenthood and hopefully a quick pint at some point.

Edinburgh is full of mentals.

Why are you job hunting? Because your partner left?

I've been bigged up for a couple of new roles that could basically double my salary
Trouble is, I like working here

Yeah, that's why I'm not a millionaire now.

I get a lot of lee-way with regards to working from home when Mrs Cow has parent's evenings, etc.

You could always use a job offer elsewhere as a way of getting a payrise. If they value you enough.

This was certainly a thought
I've been here 14 years now and am part of the fixtures and fittings

I did the "I am not going for an interview but have been asked to and this is what it pays. Can you review my salary please?"
And it got me 22% or something this year.

I have been here 9 years.

Nicely done.

Yep. Also bored with it and the creatives here are a pair of cunts.

It sounds to me like you'll be able to get a decent job wherever

(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 13:58, Reply)
Thanks. It will take a while though. When I got the job I had at Coca-Cola I had 7 interviews over 6 months - which isn't uncommon in this industry.

Jobhunting is great fun.
If I wanted to prostitute myself by making a living trying to sell shit to people, I'd have no trouble at all. As it is, most of what's out there locally is not appealing in the slightest, or I'm not qualified for.

I spent four hours on an internal application last week
Wanted to check it and then submit it tonight, and they've changed the job spec. It's ok though because "no one had applied yet" that's the sort of people I work with.
(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 14:02, Reply)
The larger the employer the worse the application process so that large HR departments can justify their existence

got to love the NHS.

I'm probably pinning my hopes too much on the one I applied for last week, to be honest.
But if I did get it, it would be fantastic.

Good luck!

Cheers.
The missus reckons she's got 'a feeling' about it. Personally, I reckon it's probably just wind.

knowing your mrs
it's probably both!
(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 14:44, Reply)
More than likely :)

(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 15:06, Reply)
Unfortunately I'm not qualified to do anything except sell shit to people.

(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 14:03, Reply)
I just know I wouldn't be good at it.
I'm not tenacious enough.
