I really want to go and see this, ever since I heard Danny Baker talking about it.
I may wait for Spring though, I've done Blackpool in November before and it wasn't fun.

I somehow see me spending a half day wandering all around it, reading it all and taking pictures while the other half sits and drinks tea and plots what she can make me do as revenge. Another craft fair, I expect.

I'm having a fancy dress party and one of my friends wants to come dressed as my housemate. She's asked me to steal some of his clothes before the party.
Is this acceptable behaviour or is it something he'll get stroppy about?

Off to Guernsey for a wedding on Friday.
Other than that work, job hunting, parenthood and hopefully a quick pint at some point.

Edinburgh is full of mentals.

Jobhunting is great fun.
If I wanted to prostitute myself by making a living trying to sell shit to people, I'd have no trouble at all. As it is, most of what's out there locally is not appealing in the slightest, or I'm not qualified for.
(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 13:59, Reply)
I spent four hours on an internal application last week
Wanted to check it and then submit it tonight, and they've changed the job spec. It's ok though because "no one had applied yet" that's the sort of people I work with.
(, Mon 10 Oct 2011, 14:02, Reply)
The larger the employer the worse the application process so that large HR departments can justify their existence

It's 30 degrees there at the moment with a chance of thunderstorm later this week.

General strike in Greece on the 19th though so things like air traffic control will be on the fritz.

My wife giving birth means I probably won't get to have sex again for a very long time.

I'm off to New York at the end of the month.

You've been to New York, do you have any tips for really great places I have to go and see?

I enjoyed the UN especially the fact some suspicious looking people followed me after I took a few photos.
That was probably paranoia on my part though.

Midtown is cool during the day, but dull at night. Soho and chinatown are great at night. Just pop into a bar in the afternoon and chat to the bar staff, they'll tell you what's cool to do and they're all pretty friendly.

It turns out the problem with my phone was that there is a transmitter down in my area. Stupidly, although I've got my phone set to do both 3G and 2G, and the 3G signal not working, unless I manually change it to 2G it keeps trying to use the 3G network and then failing.

Stupid phones.

I had a great chat with our IT support on friday
I especially like it when he pointed out that any other type of phone that we could have gone with, would have a fully supported push e-mail facility with our existing server. Except for Blackberry. Which requires it's own server, it's own software, and it's own suppport contract with Blackberry.

I'm pushing for an HTC desire when we next upgrade.

Sadly if they start using magnum rounds, or they're firing assault rifles, you're probably gonna die. But it must be reassuring to know you've got that small scale protection without needing to invest in body armour.
