What I don't get right, what I don't get, is what normal people do when they want a chicken sandwich, and they live on their own.
All I wanted tonight was two chicken sandwiches, warm roast chicken, on a grainy bread, with lettus, onion, mayo, and I've got some nice chili jelly that I want with it. The whole point was to have something that'll be nice with the chili jelly.

So I was in my little tesco, and I could by for £3 a packet of little thighs, which looked quite pathetic. Or a packet of little little drumsticks, which again, looked pathetic. Or I could have bought half/whole a pre-cooked cold packet chicken which always has that slimey stuff and uncrispy skin for like £5. Or I could buy some sliced pre cooked chicken breast which would have been like £2.50...... or for a whole chicken, for £4, I can have a whole one.

So I got the whole one, uncooked, but whenever I do that, I throw so much away. And all I want is a fucking sandwich's worth. So I've seen them do it on telly all the time, how to quater and joint a chicken, so I thought I'd give it a go. The first leg (drumbstck'n'thigh) came off with a bit of hassle, looked not to bad, bit of bone debris, it'll do. The second looked wicked, just like you'd get in a butchers. Then the wings, they looks wicked, then took out the backbone which took a lot of the breast skin, but was ok, and then snaping and cutting the crown was easy. The breasts look a mess but will do.

So now I got a single breast on the bone roasting, with butter and garlic under the skin and all over, with some roasted carlic and half an onion there to juice it up a bit. I also took the skin from the backbone which I probably won't use so the cripsy skin should be nice.

Then I'm gonna slice it up and have it on some grainy bread with some mayo, lettus, chili jelly, onion. And some crisps and some pickles.

All this palarava 'cus I fancied a simple chicken sandwich for dinner.

And my tesco now do these wicked microwave chips called "Fries to go" which are amazing and nice, in the packet they're all individually seporated.
So I got some of them while I wate because I really haven't had anything solid in me today.

She'd know what to do.

In truth I only realised the connotations after the tattooing.
It was going to be black until about half an hour before. I swear to God it's not to impress CQ.

It's a fine looking star.
I've now got the David Essex song, 'Gonna make you a star' in my head.
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:52, Reply)
David Essex was the first LP I ever owned.
Not the first one I bought however.

In the book i'm reading, the ones who didn't go to a prestigious magic school.... the ones who discovered and learnt it via unoffical means....
... they tatto a seven sided blue star for every piece of magic they master. It's self regulatory and policing, the system, you have to do it in front of two people of higher rank.

I'm going to believe this is like that, because I like the thought.

Adrift at the bottom of the table.
I fear that next season I might have to find another hobby. I can't face going to places like Carlise again.

I'm going to watch the Newcastle v Spurs game at the pub tomorrow.
I have an uneasy feeling that this could be our first defeat of the season, for some reason. Although our record against them's not bad. My mate's band is playing the same pub straight after the match so I suspect I may be a bit worse for wear come nine o' clock.

I asked my ma' if I could make a jewish chicken soup out of the bones and wings, and said it's the wrong kind of chicken, I donno what she means by that, I thought it would be perfect.
I don't mind if my misses ain't jewish, I won't say I'll settle for anyone, 'cus that would be really demeaning, but I'd give most people a chance.

Wrong kind of chicken???
maybe you need a Jewish chicken?
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:48, Reply)
this
how can a chicken be 'the wrong kind' for soup? I make bloody good chicken soup and I've only ever used a normal chicken...
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:51, Reply)
Mother Gonz might mean kosher.

(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:53, Reply)
I honestly don't know.
You can get "Kosha Chickens", which is more than just the ceramony and killing, I believe, something to do with it's way of life or breed maybe.
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:53, Reply)
You could just have bought a chicken salad sandwich
and added chilli jelly?
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:42, Reply)
Nah', they use shit bread, and it's the end of the day so the lettus and onion would be rank, and it would be paying more for chicken than those cooked chicken slices which I reffused to do on account of a whole chicken not being much more.
Plus, no matter how bad things get, no matter how lonely and sad and pathetic my saturdays are.... I will not be _that_ guy, the one who buys frozen "Roast dinner for one" or the reduced sandwiches.
(, Sat 15 Oct 2011, 19:48, Reply)
I'd rather the convenience myself
but I understand where you're coming from and I'm certain your sandwich will taste 400% better

This is perfect, really moist chicken, crispy skin, roasted garli and onions.

This is the nicest thing I've made for myself in months. It's the perfect sandwich for me

Hello you lovely person =)
It really is good, like, I think it's perfected, the only way it could be better is with freshly made bread which is a bit more not-fall-apart'ness,

I forgot I recorded Ricky Gervais's Science last night, that's a bit of turn-up for the books, watching that now. I also downloaded all the Extras, I thought I didn't like them but I've lol'd on the tube a few times for it.
