Interestingly the article also says:

That's a bit of a sweeping statement that. You and I both know mental health issues aren't as clear cut as that.

I haven't suggested that this is true, or that it accounts for all cases of people having panic attacks.
I just pointed out that some people think there might be a correlation between having these things and being an internet shut-in.
The article seems to imply that they normally have a stand-alone clinical source which could be a wide-range of things and concludes "panic attacks are not usually indicative of a mental disorder." so I'm not sure this is a mental health issue really.

especially as you feel you're going to suffocate and quite often you feel like someone else is in your room, like a proper sense of menace. You can't move and you can't talk and you can't do anything except lie there and freak out.
