Alt: I want a nice relaxing Xmas day with just the wife and kids
We've 'entertained' for the past five years and I'm not even sure how we managed to get roped into it for so long. The compromise this year is having to go up to Blackpool to visit relatives for a couple of days after Boxing Day. Blackpool in the winter is quite peaceful so it hasn't worked out too bad for me.

A new liver would come in handy.

With grandparents living over 100 miles away we have chosen to always stay at home for Christmas
Everyone knows where we live and if they want to come it is fine

I think I've only spent christmas away from family twice in my life.

I've driven to Featherstone a few times on Christmas morning.
We now just go on Boxing Day instead

In the last couple of years before I left home my parents used to go away and leave me and my sister at home
Man, were we popular with all our friends on Christmas day?
At precisely the point in the day when everyone had had enough of their families, one by one they would come strolling in.

Capital! I'll bring the After Eights.

If indeed that IS the time

If indeed you do go to Blackpool
you should burn it to the ground, there's a good lad

My sister and brother-in-law run a guesthouse there so...
..yeah sure, why not? I'm amazed that so many hotels make a living just from being in the vicinity of some tall metal and widespread depression.

Please don't burn Blackpool to the ground until I have been to see the 'Comedy Carpet'.
After that, have at it as you wish.

Did you enjoy the gig Bill?

(, Tue 15 Nov 2011, 13:50, Reply)
It was fucking brilliant
We got to right near the front and everyone around us was friendly and having a laugh. It was a knackering weekend but very much worth it.

I forgot to ask any b3tans where they were meeting up..
..so short of holding up a big sign of a magenta cock there wasn't much I could do to get my first meeting with the internet. As it turned out we just got there in time for the doors opening anyway.

No worries, we were supposed to be meeting Monty and Al beforehand but they both bailed, the great woofters.
So we ended up going straight to the Roundhouse rather than for a drink before the gig.

I thought they sounded fucking excellent, but was stood near the back with clendrix. I occasionally spotted Eldritch's baldy pate, though.

There will be enough eyeliner and lipstick to stock up every London branch of Boots a few times over.
