soy sauce
brown sugar
thinly sliced chillies
some ginger slices (take them out at the end)
thats it, reduce and pour over prwans and egg fried rice, happy days.

I was cooking teriyaki beef the other day and I got some sauce on my fingers. Tasted just like bonfire toffee.

The mistake I made was that my reduction was too quick without enough sturing, the sugars solidfide the liquid.
