They don't seem to get that just because you live in a multi-million pound house, it doesn't mean you have millions in the bank.
There are lots of people who have inherited or widdowed a big home, one they've lived in all their lives, who are struggling to keep the up-keep of such a property. "They can just downsize then" is as heartless in this area as it is for people on the other end of the scale who can't afford their council homes.

I honestly think people who make desisions for the gov are living in a different planet, they're so far removed from a normal life that it's rediculous. I think the MPs and what-not need to try living in a council house on benfits for a month to see what it's really like. And for that matter, the journelests who imply that everyone on benfits has an easy ride too.
