The singing is good, the set is good, the seats are good, the theatre is good... But I honestly don't have a clue what is happening, it seems like a collection of random songs.

20 years ago Jean Valjean was in prison for nicking some bread for his family. He gets let out on parole, struggles to find work and is taken in by a Bishop whom he steals from. He's caught but the bishop is like "nah, that's cool, I gave him that shit".
20 years later, Jean Valjean is the mayor of the town and runs a factory but has a different name. All this time some police dude has been up for a bit of revenge (coz he reckons Valjean should have gone back to prison)
In France itself the poor live like crap, and revolution is brewing. A group of stuudents are intent of overthrowing an unjust government. One of them is hot and totally fancies Cossette. HOWEVER the other lass fancies that dude, too.
At the end of the first half revolution is about to happen and the characters are all involved in moral quandries - do they fight? How can they get with the hottie? What can they nick?

and there are some bits I've missed out, like Fontine (Cossette's mum) and the police dude who kills himself

there's a revolution, Marius (the hot guy) fights. The one who fancies him dies (it's tragic) and he, too, is injured. In a fit of guilt and grief and for the sake of his adopted daughter he carries Marius through the sewers of Paris, effectively saving him (Marius knows nothing of this)
Lots of other people die (it's very sad), then Marius and Cossette get it together and get married, but then Valjean is dying (at which point Marius finds out that he was the one saved him and he's like OMG!). Then Valjean dies. You can tell when people die, they don't finish the last line of their song.

So he was like 60 when he went in the revolution, which was only half way through. The story was very disjointed, didn't have a clue that there were two women he was fucking.
It was good singing with good acting on a good set but with the worst script. The only good thing was the landlord and his wife. The problem with every single fucking song being over dramatic to the same maximium volume is you can't then highlight an important bit.

marius is the young one in teh revolution, he totally wants cossette but that other lass has a crush.
Valjean is 60 or something, but he's not got a bird

1) I didn't know there was two main blokes.
2) I thought they were yelling Viva La Jean, viva being 'life', 'la' being 'the' and 'jean' meaning something in french.
3) If I had no life-lines and the question was "What london west end has the character Marius" for £5k, I'd take the money and run.
4) I don't know what the thing with the sick young girl was, but I presumed she was the orphine at the Landord's house and he was buying his daughter back.

It's confusing me more, to the point of worrying how little I got from it now. I'm going to continue to believe it was a series of short sketches that sometimes relates to each other.
I swear, I'm not thick, I'm really not, I get lots of things, I can code object orrianted PHP, I know CodeIgnitor, Wordpress and jQuery on a comercial level, I can download pretty much any piece of media ever published, I can cook lobster and make my own pasta, I have perfected cooking steak and duck, I have my code and work approved by one of the largest websites in the world, I can work pretty much anything with a circuit board or any piece of software made. I AM FAR FROM STUPID, but I have no idea what that show was about.

I can't believe teh BBC have got coverage of the Grand National lasting FOUR HOURS. The race lasts five minutes, and it doesn't even start till four o'clock. Why the buggery are they starting coverage now? Tits.
If I find out the reason I have to watch the FA cup match on my laptop is because the BBC blew their football budget on 'The Voice', I will be very cross.
in other news, have fun this afternoon.
