When I first heard Pantera I wasn't a fan at all
'The Great Southern Trendkill' is probably not the best way to introduce someone to them. A few months later I heard '5 Minutes Alone', and was rather swift in realising that they were bloody good.

I don't mind it as much now
But I didn't realise listen to much stuff like that at the time, so it didn't sound great at the time.
Don't get me wrong, there are some cracking tracks on 'Trendkill' - War Nerve, Drag The Waters, Suicide Note (1 & 2), Floods, etc

I know this is common opinion
But I prefer Far Beyond Driven. It's just much heavier.

They really are.
I prefer 'Simian Buttplug' - just their early stuff though. Before they sold out with the release of 'Llanelli Moped Hire Shop'.

We Butter the Bread With Butter beats that.
And Pig Destroyer are superb. Thinking of heading back to Leeds for the Damnation festival in November as they're headlining.

Chewing my face off in a Napalm Death moshpit in Prestatyn was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I'll confess I don't love it as much as I did when I was 13
But it is good fun.
The Lee Dorrian side is better than the Nic Bullen side though.

I always enjoyed Captain Terminal Bastard
They're more towards the easy listening end of the "unpopular weirdly named metal band" sub-genre, however.
