That's quite enough of that.
I am reliably informed that the holographic Tupac that was recently unveiled was really very impressive (unlike Tupac himself, who was a stage-school dwarf with 'John Wayne Syndrome', a gay 'tache and zero MC $killZ). As Lusty remarked to me, it won't be long before cloth-eared dunces will be able to attend a beyond-the-grave Michael Jackson show using the same technology.

But surely this is a (smooth - lol) criminal waste of such wizardry? Is a gig by a squeaking bleached-skinned nonce really the best application of this? What would be better use of this shit?

Alt: 8 hours of sleep a night: too much? Not enough? How much to you get and do you feel it's enough? This one is dedicated to /OT's resident Welshman, AA.

Maybe to get a philosophy lesson from Socrates
Or a blowie off Freddie Mercury.
If you were into that sort of thing of course.

But then that wouldn't work with a hologram.
Curses.

I remember hearing one of the first ever recordings of Hendrix playing as a session musician at the BBC
before striking out on his own.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 10:41, Reply)
No you don't.
His first recordings for the BBC were with the Experience, for the radio show 'Top Gear'. His years as an r'n'b sideman for the likes of Little Richard and the Isley Bros are all available but predate his move to the UK by a couple of years.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 10:42, Reply)
maybe it was just played on the bbc...I'm sure the chap said it was recorded at maida vale or somewhere similar
however I'm sure you know better!
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 10:45, Reply)
There's a fantastic compilation out there
of all his BBC sessions. It's some of his best work, and includes my favourite of all his recorded works, an instrumental called Drivin' South.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 10:46, Reply)
I had a cassette of this many many years ago
One of those cheapo Castle Communications releases. I really need to get the official release on a format that I can play.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 10:33, Reply)
I have to disagree with Hendrix
Hendrix was far more of a performer than Tupac, and if it was just a hologram, you may as well have simply sat at home and watched it on TV. The same applies to Freddie Mercury and Dimebag.

Alt: Cheers, fuckface. I usually tend to get about 5-6 hours per night, but last night was 3 1/2 hours.

I have decided to stop the FOB to newbies, we need more people on here.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 11:30, Reply)
Wise move IMO.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 12:01, Reply)
I think Monty is experimenting with not immediately scaring new people away.
Give old Pothers a couple more weeks to settle in and he'll be branded a tedious bent spastic like the rest of us.

It's probably a role that should be on rotation anyway.

As Lucas has signed that agreement to give all his money away to good causes
I'm happy for him to make as many billions as he likes.

Anything more than that and I'm fucked for the day. Currently sleeping in 3 hours shifts at random intervals - sucks in a lot of ways but I generally feel more on the ball for it

Great, as I am in West London might be best for me to meet you somewhere en route rather than head east to then head west.
