I've lived in the States, in the South.
They are not a bad bunch. They are just like us.

Most of the whooping morons you see on TV go about their daily lives with no thought of anyone else except how to pay their rent and bills. They are then asked their opinion about some world affair and they sound like cretins, which may be fair.

Go to Congleton and ask someone what, say, LIBOR means and I doubt many could answer. I doubt many could tell you who the Home Secretary is.

it's true, idiocy is a global problem.
I'd say we should kill them all but then they're probably electrocute themselves wiring a plug.

They at least have a (Christian) sense
of wanting to do the right thing (not the money grabbing neocons). Which is at least a brake on what they could do, militarily, if it was just a question of what they could get away with.

hmm, dunno about that.
if they were truly christian they wouldn't be quite so capitalist.
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:51, Reply)
They relate the two.
It's sold by the churches as hard work more than capitalism. Working hard to provide for your family, church and community. Very Victorian.

The poorest people more often than not vote for the republicans
thus making themselves worse off, idiots

aspirational value system, innit.

This is true to a certain degree.
They have a strong sense of what the US should be like, they are very aspirational and don't want anyone messing their chance of getting rich.

And millions of people can't afford to visit a GP.

It wouldn't surprise me, many people I met in Congleton were thick as pigshit.

I have just had a most uncomfortable moment
where I had to go and check that both of those things were what I thought they were. I was right, thankfully.

It's where you can borrow books, right?

Glad to hear it.
Or it's back to school for you. With a uniform.

If you understand LIBOR
then you're ahead of every single journalist in this country right now, so I suggest you demand their fucking jobs and salaries.
