his proudest moments on the force were 'beating hippies protesting at a power plant', 'arresting a 14 year old girl who called him a pig' and 'discovering a dead body that had somehow hooked itself up to an electric circuit by means of the most painful suicide ever'

i don't know what they were protesting about, but maybe they had a point, whether it was pollution or god knows what
either way, from the sound of it a couple of vans full of riot police turned up and laid into them, unprovoked. from what i've garnered from people in any of the forces, they're boys clubs, gangs of people who go around doing whatever the fuck tehy want

Just a bit fucked up that the police are allowed to use batons whilst others can't do shit.
Then again, I did support the police breaking heads in the riots last year.

and the police acted like animals.

it looks like the police had no real way of stopping them, so they got an injunction (which is questionable in itself) and then when the hippes started being a bit cheeky and trying go round the roadblocks, the police went a bit mental.
It actually looks like an interesting case, I'm surprised I've not heard of it, i love this sort of thing.

and were dragged through their smashed windscreens by their hair, in front of their kids, and beaten with truncheons, at about 6am. It's disproportionate in the extreme. I'm not saying the convoy weren't a dodgy bunch and I did feel a bit sorry for the farmers whose land was ruined by festivals but the footage is disgusting.

Flicking through those videos the injuries sustained are consistent with what I have witnessed on a demonstration broken up by police - everyone bleeding from the backs of their heads as they have been belted with a baton while trying to run away.

if he's representative of the current Police force, then I for one might start committing more crimes.
On a more serious note, there was an article in the paper the other day about how a lot of the problems stem from the lawyers being to smart, and there being too many ways to get off on a technicality, so although a man is guilty, and very obviously so, just becuase a copper didn't change his shirt between checking different evidence samples it gets thrown out*
obviously this is an exaggeration, but you get my point.

that is why more and more laws keep getting brought in, classic example using a mobile while driving. Driving without due care and attention already covered it, but too many arrogant twats with expensive lawyers weaseled out of it, so we got a new law.

but when there is such a raft of evidence, there must be a way to get the buggers in jail.
