So my smug "I'm not getting flooded" post earlier has back fired.
I've been out getting sandbags and sorting out all my stuff upstairs. If I learnt one thing, its that people are still idiots. People taking like 20 sandbags each for a terraced house in oxford. Not sure they understand what they're doing. Panicy fucks. do you panic, or keep a clear head?

Alt. What's your favourite weather based emergency?
(, Mon 26 Nov 2012, 16:51, 43 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Alt: Twenty pints of milk and an entire bakery's worth of bread.
See also: Asda being shut for 24 hours over Christmas.

A house I used to live in got flooded about four years ago. That was a lucky escape.

So far it's worked.

I'd like to think I'm calm
in fact I am probably too laid back. However in a more long term stressful situation I do let things build up, go crazy for a bit then chill out again. Also, if things get serious, I set silly. That's why there's a prize this week at work of a muffin for whomever gets an inspector in their lesson first

Slough could use a fucking good flooding.
The inhabitants would get a bath, at least. Sometimes I feel like those people that live amongst chimps for a year, or whatever.

I tend to be calm during a crisis and then panic afterwards.
(, Mon 26 Nov 2012, 17:03, Reply)
panic afterwards?
Seems a little daft.

I just found out something stupid about train tickets.
Milton keynes to Euston is £14 return.
Euston to Milton Keynes is £18.50 return.

You can buy either and collect them from which ever station you like. So you just have to buy the Mk-euston ticket collect it at euston and then use the tickets the wrong way round to save £4... stupid.

It's quite common.
It used to cost more to get from Newcastle to my local station than it did from my local station to Newcastle.
