One for the athletic shoe enthusiast
ajcatalano.com/solelites.html

If they were, say under $200 I might have been tempted by a pair so it's probably good that they're not. Especially for Monty.

I have no plans for today, I'm trying to decide what to do next in the slowcooker which will then colour my shopping plans. What are you up to?

Alt: what's a good slow cooker recipe?
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:22, 94 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
I don't like those.
I prefer DC and DVS, but each to their own.

Oh yeah and no suggestions for slow cooking, soz. Have you got any LCD yet?
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:28, Reply)
Haven't purchased any yet
listened to some on youtube, though.

I have a couple of pairs of DC, but one has worn through the sole and I only wear them for nipping out for a cigarette as they're super comfortable.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:35, Reply)
they're the comfiest trainers I've ever had
LCD's best album is Sound of Silver. Their drummer is fucking ace.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:37, Reply)
Sadly eMusic where I have an account don't have any
I might go to the torrents.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:42, Reply)
just get the full discography by torrent.
First album is good, second is better, third not as good as the first two. Good singles band and the 45:33 EP is well worth a listen.

SHOE CHAT SHOE CHAT
I'm wearing shoes

I'm at work until 6:30 cos I was in late this morning cos I had too many of the beers last night.

ALT: Just use a fast cooker instead, frying pans are good.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:53, Reply)
But a slow cooker won't burn my house down if left unattended
also, accidentally cooking stuff for an extra hour in a slow cooker won't ruin it.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:01, Reply)
Why do you need to cook when you're away?
Just order pizza instead
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:03, Reply)
I have this nagging feeling that eating takeout pizza every day
might not be good for me. Also I might get sick of it AND THAT MUST NEVER HAPPEN.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:56, Reply)
I'm still wearing my slippers.
I have three pairs of slippers. I have a pair upstairs and a pair downstairs and a pair in France. This is all I really have to say about slippers.

I like cooking retarded people in slow cookers.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 11:55, Reply)
Controversially, I am currently sitting upstairs but wearing my downstairs slippers.

(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:02, Reply)
Vicomte de Bragelonne.
I'm up to the Man in the Iron Mask part. I'd forgotten what an almighty cunt Aramis turns into as an old man.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:03, Reply)
you pretentious cunt.
I'm reading End Zone by Don De Lillo.

He's great.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:05, Reply)
Is that pretentious?
Are ripping yarns about musketeers pretentious?

I don't know any more. I'll probably read some Kerouac afterwards to make up for it or sutin.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:07, Reply)
I have that Burroughs and Kerouac one on the go as well.
I love Burroughs, favourite author.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:08, Reply)

(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:09, Reply)
that's nothing.
Later on I'm doing some slam poetry, subject matter being 'functions of irony in American 'Blank Generation' fiction'.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:16, Reply)
That reminds me, I haven't read Andy McNab or Chris Ryan in years.

I have the same kind of watch as that Bravo Two Zero chap.

(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 13:28, Reply)
I've started to think I might need some slippers
but this makes me feel old.

Yesterday I finally set up auto-topup on my Oyster card instead of occasionally being found wanting at the barrier. I feel like this is admitting I actually live in London.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:03, Reply)
Slippers are awesome.

(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:03, Reply)
Might have to take them off in a bit so I can pop out and buy a frame for my smashing Dotmund painting what I just bought off the smashing Dotmund.

the best slow cooker recipes are based on:
Cheapest type of meat you can buy with best booze you can bare not to drink. And then throw in whatever vege you want and about twice as much fresh herbs as you think you need.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:47, Reply)
This is pretty much my approach

(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:57, Reply)
We've been to the tip.
Got rid of a big pile of dead electronics that we'd been tripping over for months.
Probably going to have some lunch and watch the rugby now.

Alt: brown off some diced beef, add some fried onions and mushrooms, cover in water, add herbs, stock cube, glug of wine, cook for a few hours, add casserole veg, cook for some more hours.
Even I can't fuck that recipe up, so it must be easy.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 12:58, Reply)
When I moved out of the house
I got rid of an old black and white portable and three 20+" CRT monitors, defunct. Took about 30 minutes total, dunno why I never bothered before.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 14:15, Reply)
There's something about the genetic makeup of geeks
that makes us incapable of throwing out electronics.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 14:21, Reply)
Those are truly the shoes of a cunt
I've been to the hair choppers for a No.1

Alt: Horse meat is quite popular nowadays.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 13:12, Reply)
I just want all my shoes to light up when I walk now
it'd be like being in a 24hr disco
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 13:13, Reply)
oooh, the horsemeat thing is a conspiracy?
that'll upset the neighsayers

Decided to go out for lunch
Heading up to Spitalfield Market where there are lots of food places and passed the Whitechapel Art Gallery which has a dining room.

Had Onglet Steak with Spinach, Beer Battered Onion Rings and Horseradish Creme Fraiche and a side of Roasted Sweet Potato with Aioli.

Fucking well lush. Also a glass of wine which has made me very sleepy now, might go for a nap.
(, Sat 9 Feb 2013, 14:20, Reply)
